CTD on Save Issue

Wasn't sure if anyone has had this and knows what it could be. My current playthrough, when I save, it suddenly CTD on save. I tried to go back a few saves, still doing it. I haven't added anything or taken away anything on this save. I am level 10, so that means you are already talking a pretty long play through (I have a lot of things to make Skyrim difficult, not to mention DD mods and etc). Any ideas what would suddenly cause the CTD on save issue with no changes made?

that sounds like a too high string count issue

 

- open your save with save cleaner tool and check how high the string count is

- that will help you if your string count is at lvl 10 over 65k: crash fixes

(you will have to start a new game tho)

 

alternative:

- you might have too many animations installed -> save gets bigger, loading/save times rise

- look for configurations options of your skyrim.ini -> with lots of mods you might need to rise some budgets (?), looky here: Mini Guide

Well, I did some testing... I found it unusual because it wasn't just the most recent save that caused the crash, I could go back a few saves and so, it would have been able to save since then, but all those crashed too. It appears to have something to do with the Home Delivery quest of Radiant Prostitution. I can't confirm that, and I had saved it since going to the house a few times, but in three separate occasions if I went to the save prior to meeting the two people in home delivery I could save again and the issue went away.

maybe you should post that on the Radiant Prostitution support topic than?

still, random CTD that cant be followed back to a certain source might have there cause in a basic instability of your game.

 

That thinking: "the last mod was the cause" and "it happens only in a certain situation, yet its totaly random" is all too familiar to me^^ i think often the same way

but at the end it was to high string count on my game and too many animations installed

 

(to high string count doesnt make your game crash right away, i was able to play with over 150.000 and it still worked, but CTD got more frequent and totaly random. at the end i couldnt load my saves anymore or make new saves. still i tried to load the stuff again and again and sometimes it still worked. Although thats not fun anymore if you expect a CTD around every corner)

 

=> and you have those issues already at lvl 10!

I will look into that. It is odd that it is working off and on. Thanks for your help. I do tend to have way to many animations installed. I know that I play with too many mods so I rarely like to poke at any specific mod, especially when the mod authors work so hard and no one else seems to have the same issue.
