Making a master file an "active plugin" through the GECK

OK, I've had this problem before, but seeing as it was many many months ago that I had it sorted, I've forgotten the solution to what I assume is this simple problem.

Simply told, I've reinstalled Steam, and so I've had to reinstall the GECK. Now, it won't allow me to make a master file into an "active plugin" and it basically crashes (freezes) whenever I try and run it. I've downloaded the GECK PU 1.4, I have the latest versions of NVSE and it still won't work, I can't figure out what I am doing wrong.

I'm launching it through the nvse_loader shortcut with the -editor bit at the end of the target, but its almost as if its just running without regard to NVSE.

Please advise :-/

Have you added the following to your geckcustom.ini?

bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=1

You can't load any esm except FalloutNV.esm unless the value of this is 1.

Do you have a link? Ever since I've reinstalled steam I've lost my original mods and plugins and I may have downloaded it again from an out of date website. I was under the impression v.1.4 was the latest haha!
