Returning to the game

Hello folks, been a while since I was last here or even in Skyrim. I've decided after an almost 2 year break that I'd like to play around in Tamriel again. I've got some questions though that I either never figured out the answer to or a new direction to go.

I've always used CBBE before and I know that there is either a UNP or UNNP. I honestly have no idea what the difference is between them all. Any suggestions? does CBBE offer support for UNP now? I know I want to have physics involved, so should I stay with CBBE? I've always loved the facial images that people have posted and have desired to use them for my avatar. However, I've never been able to get my character to look like the image being presented. Very discouraging and puzzling as well. It's been ages since I last played so there won't be any issues with corrupted saves or such like that to worry about. What is the best way to get my character to look like some I've seen posted here?

My next question is about facial presets. I've tried using them before and I guess I'm just not doing something correctly. I'll locate, say an Imperial that I like. It's listed as a preset 4 on the site and I'm wondering if I'm either placing the file(s) in the worn area or maybe opening the image with the wrong Imperial selected. Does that make a difference is how the character will look like? These are questions that I've not been able to figure out and I would appreciate feedback.

Either way, it's good to be back with a game that I've got hundred of hours into. Although, I've never actually finished any of the main quests, I've always gotten distracted doing other things. Except for the assassin arc, I played that through once and was so disappointed that I won't do that again.

cbbe and unp are both included in bodyslide, functionally they are the same thing, so you just choose the one you like the most there, cbbe is more fantasy like and unp is generaly more realistic

also you should look for armor replacers and see if you like more the replacers for cbbe or for unp, for me i never used cbbe again because of this https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/75861 although there is probably a cbbe conversion somewhere

as for facial presets, use racemenu, and search for racemenu presets on nexus... there are a lot of then

As 2Dimm stated, not much different between the two bodies. If you want more realistic shape, go with UNP. CBBE is for a sometimes thicker shape. However, you have Bodyslide which extends this reality. I use the CBBE body as a personal preference since I started. It was also due to lack of UNP bodyslide until it became popular. I still have yet to push further. Skin mods, that is left up to personal preference along with facial presets. A lot of the mods on Nexus now have Mod Manager support so you can download through the Nexus Mod Manager or use a MO of your choice. I'll throw one your way.

This was in the beginning.

This is where I am at now.

Now mind you, I am using COS CBBE HDT Body for bodyslide. [All-In-One HDT Vagina body] Pretty much everyone in my skyrim is anywhere from extremely thick to thinner with a decent butt. [Fan of butts.] I am also using Fair Skin complexion with a custom race. [I'm on the right.] KS HDT Hairdos and multiple bodyslide mods. Since 2 years ago, limitless possibilities are there. I would say hit up Nexus, go through and look around. [Window shop more or less.] Search for CBBE on the site and then search for UNP. Once you have done so, go from there. :3 o3o

What's the difference between UNP and UUNP?

I went to look. I still don't know, having read the answer at https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/3i8v4s/unp_vs_uunp/

which said many words  and concluded ( I *think*) that UUNP is "a pain in the ass" to design for (don't hit me, I'm just quoting my link).

I've given you a link, can someone give me one, a nice thread to discuss really basic stuff about skyrim-Bruma?

I'm looking for hidden-but obvious quests. I'm getting them a piece at a time from google.

I would also support 2dimm statement. I am trying book of uunp and I am simply amazed, because its only a armor mod, but makes skyrim feel new again for me. I would go with uunp, because of the mod. And I hope you mean face preset, when you say facial. If you were surprised that it doesnt look like the one on screenshots, make sure you have all the mods installed and check the enb they are using. Enb can make one character look completly different. The lightning intensity aswell.

Honestly, with BodySlide choosing CBBE or UUNP is a matter of personal choice. You can tailor either body to your personal tastes these days. They say UNP bodies have a higher poly count or some such but I've tried both and was equally happy after making my own presets in BS. Most people seem to choose based on what clothing is available for which body but, in all honesty, if you become fairly proficient at Outfit Studio, even that doesn't really matter much. I'm the barest novice at OS but even I can convert outfits from one body to the other now.

I join the discussion. I come back after a few years. What do I have to install skyrim or skyrim se?

Depends on what you want out of the game. If you're adding a lot of SexLab type stuff into your game, then you'll want older Skyrim since SKSE still hasn't been adapted for SE. If you don't care about script heavy mods and just want your game to be stable and look good, feel free to go with Skyrim SE.

I know that on skyrimse there are not many mod.Ma I'm afraid in the progress abandonment by the basic skyrim modder.I had installed skyrimse, but I noticed that skse does not support it at the moment.

SSE is much more stable but I never played it and I will never play it.
It took many years to make Oldrim acceptable and do the same with SSE, no. :classic_wink:
