Esc key crash ? :(

Hi.

 

I am having a weird issue.

 

I have a modded skyrim and when i have played i would guess about 15 or 20 minutes, when i press my escape key on my keyboard ( because i wish to either save my game or check a mod) my game instantly CTD's to desktop. But had i not pressed escape, the game would have carried on. Why is pressing the escape key crashing my game and causing a CTD to desktop.? This has happened to be for weeks now and i am at a loss as to what is causing it.

 

Any ideas at all please?

It's probably being caused by one of your mods that you have installed. I remember having one once that if I tried to bring up the map and fast travel it would cause me to crash to desktop but if it was turned off nothing happened.

I had this issue a couple weeks ago, the mod "puppet master" was causing it, because it has the "esc" set by default as the hotkey, I had to change the hotkey to something else, I would try making sure nothing is hot keyed to your ESC key.

The only other thing I can think of off the top of my head is if for some reason there is a corrupt MCM file from a mod, not sure if that would do it but its possible I guess, hope this helps

 

EDIT: also if none of that is helpful try re-installing sky ui, or checking the settings there
