KoolHndLuke Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 I'm following a tutorial on how to add tattoos in MudBox/Gimp. The problem is that she is showing it for Skyrim- not FO4. I'm not seeing a base shape to highlight and export as obj like she shows here- Anyone know what I should highlight and export as obj for FO4?
AWP3RATOR Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 If you are adding tattoos - that would be to the texture itself: the femalebody_d.dds files not the femalebody.nif. For textures, you can just open them with the graphics software of your choice. GIMP + DDS plugin or Photoshop CC with DDS plugins both work well. Or do you mean the mesh itself, so that it can be imported in to Mudbox? For that, I typically export from Outfit Studio to .OBJ.

She adds the tattoos in MudBox on the texture using the mesh as a reference for positioning I think. It turns out better she says. I couldn't get the mesh exported as obj to work in MudBox. Thanks for the tip! Will give it a spin.
AWP3RATOR Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 I haven't used it myself, but after researching Mudbox, it looks like something would certainly help out. I'd love to be able to quickly skin a texture while it's on a mesh.

It has incredible potential! It's free if your a student.
AWP3RATOR Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 I have 3dsMax on a similar license from AutoDesk. Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out!
