oldrayzor Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Been working on a little mod that loads outfits for unique specific NPCs. Everything works well but have run into a confusing problem. I've created mash-ups of armors, conformed the slots, loaded them into an outfit project and generate the armor for the body type I am using in Bodyslide. All that works well. However, I want to have the armor free of the baseshape so that underwear need not be duplicated. I've changed armor slot to 57 (correctly!). This permits the underwear to appear whether the armor is equipped or not. Where I have NPCs that have weights of 100, it works fine. But where NPC weights fall within a range (ie. 20, 50, etc), the armor doesn't fit the generated body, even though it was conformed in Bodyslide to the very same body. Now, I'm new to this sort-of, but I would think the body and armor would generate under the same algorithm. What am I doing wrong?
Deedlit Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 im getting same problem with skyrim , its works fine with 0 or 100 weight, but from 1 to 99 its goes a mess, i guess im doing something wrong also.

Reopen you mod in CK, then re-open and close with OK button all your armor addons. Sometimes CK do not generate weight morphs for armors, so you need to kick it. 1 hour ago, Deedlit said: im getting same problem with skyrim , its works fine with 0 or 100 weight, but from 1 to 99 its goes a mess, i guess im doing something wrong also. Yep. 1) Your _0 and _1 armor variants do not have identical vertices count and vertices order. So, you shall completelly re-make one of yours variants (_0 or _1), using other variant as reference. 2) Your _0 and _1 armor variants do not have identical shape order in nif files. You can sort them in Bodyslide and re-save.

I thought perhaps that it was due to having changed the slot to 57 PRIOR to generating the armor so I went back conformed the slots to 32_body and generated anew. No luck though. Still persists. Is it a requirement to generate the armor "bits" individually?
Azazellz Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 It's better if you upload the files somewhere so that people can download them and see what's wrong with them.

Azazellz, thank you for your consideration (again ) and suggestion. Here are the files if anyone should have the time. I played around more extensively with the scale (X,Y,Z) and location widget in Outfit Studio than I have before so that could be the cause. I don't know how it could be issue as it all looks good in Bodyslide preview. Spoiler CBBE HDT Project - Saved Outfit Studio Project Wolf Armor I.osp Body Preset CustomTYP04Preset.xml Shape Data Wolf Armor I.nif Wolf Armor I.osd Built Body femalebody_0.nif femalebody_1.nif Built Armor AelaArmor_0.nif AelaArmor_1.nif The Result (Ugh )
Azazellz Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Well, looks like I found what wrong. One shape had NiSkinInstance block instead of BSDismemberSkinInstance. Try this file as ShapeData for your BS project. Wolf Armor I.nif

I know the part you speak of; it is like that in the original, working armor by NiseTanaka . I have encountered shapes with NiSkinInstance before (instead of BSDismemberSkinInstance) and have always meant to ask about the difference.

Well sadly didn't work. I dumped the hands (just to simplify) and tried creating a new armor in my esp in the hopes i might have offset some coordinates accidentally but that didn't help. I loaded into Remodeled Armor (making the necessary changes in CK) and that didn't work. Changed the slot number to 46-Mod Chest Primary. That didn't work. Sort of out of ideas. BTW - how were you able to add a BSDismemberSkinInstance? From scratch in NifSkope?

No. Right click on NiSkinInstance string, then Block--Convert--Bethesda--BSDismemberSkinInstance. This files work for me. I just added new "armor" with slot 57 on my "testing" esp , and it supports a weight change slider. AelaArmor_1.nif AelaArmor_0.nif

Always learn something new. Appreciated. The armor didn't work. Same result. I don't see how it could be my esp, it simply doesn't do much, but we've ruled out the armor. Here's a test using your armor: TestAelaArmor.7z Console: help "Aela - Armor" I do get this error in CK when attaching the nif file, but I get it often and was told that it wasn't important.
Azazellz Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 All working as intended Spoiler Weight 0 Weight 50 Weight 100 So, looks like something wrong with body that you using.
oldrayzor Posted February 6, 2018 Author Posted February 6, 2018 Well its a mystery. The body I'm using is the CustomType04Preset, same as the one used to generate the armor. I loaded a new save and called up a copy of Aela and equiped her. Same result. I'm sorry for being such a pest but I truly appreciate you taking the time to look at this. I'm overlooking something obviously so will continue to back track. Thank you again for your help. Best.
