Selfcontrol
Hi everyone ! I'm trying to convert the B-35C armor (on the nexus) to CBBE but I don't really understand what's wrong with me. I followed several videos and when I load an armor part (for example the Chest Piece), instead of being on top of the body template I chose, it is standing somewhere above the body. But when I do the same thing for a full outfit / clothing it works flawlessly. This makes converting the armor to CBBE extremely hard because I can hardly see where I should increase the meshe. Is there anyway to correct this ? Am I missing something ? Link to comment

Selfcontrol
Thanks for the info ! Unfortunately when I move around the armor, save and build the outfit, the result is that the armor becomes invisible. I had to restore the original meshe to make it visible again. After fiddling a bit with it, it seems that you have to directly increase the meshe without moving the armor at all. Well this is definitely gonna make it hard to say the least and sice I never used Outfit Studio until now, it is going to take a lot of time Link to comment
AWP3RATOR
The CBBE version of that mod existed, but was hidden by it's author. I'll take a look at it now, see if I can't get something going here. Link to comment
AWP3RATOR
Ok I can replicate the issue... I saw this with another mod's vanilla body mesh too, for a holster, same issue. The armor pieces appear to be 120 units above the body. I can get them to convert from Vanilla to CBBE, then use the CBBE reference to conform sliders, and do any edits to the mesh itself - then move back up 120 units and save as project. This allows the outfit to be used in BS and have slider presets applied, and works well enough in game. However, there is something with the mesh itself that Outfit Studio doesn't like. A post from 2015 (many versions ago) by @ousnius when another modder was posting about this issue: Quote "NIFs can have root, shape, skinning and bone transforms. After a clean export from Blender or 3ds max, they should all be cleared, so that the only thing deciding where the thing is located is the mesh itself. However, most aren't clean, and in some cases they even have things like offset breast bones. For that reason, Outfit Studio ignores the bone transforms and applies the XPMSE rig to the outfit, so that the output will be as clea as possible after it's fixed. The "Apply Overall Skin Transform" toggle decides if the global skin offset (per shape, not per bone) is loaded or not for the following NIFs you load. That's the "Skin Transform" you see at the top of the NiSkinData block in NifSkope. The latest OS now has sliders in the Move Shape dialog as well, so you might want to check it out. " However, that "Apply Overall Skin Transform" was deprecated in BodySlide 4.0. Steps I did: Quote 1. Open Outfit Studio>New Project 2. Select the Vanilla to CBBE conversion, and the chest NIF 3. Select all 3 pieces of chest NIF, right click>Move Z -120 4. Conform all sliders 5. Slide Vanilla to CBBE to right 6. Select all 3 pieces (if not selected already) right click>Move Z 120 7. Export as NIF 8. Unload Project 9. Select New Project 10. Select CBBE as reference and the new chest NIF 11. Select all 3 pieces of chest NIF, right click>Move Z -120 12. Conform all sliders 13. Make any mesh edits for clipping etc. 14. Select all 3 pieces of chest NIF, right click>Move Z 120 15. Delete the CBBE reference body 16. Save Project As..... filling in the info 17. Test in BodySlide - the view here will be similar to Outfit Studio with the mesh high above where it should be, but it's slideable and works for in-game. I'm at a loss for how to resolve this.... missing something silly, I'm sure. Link to comment
Selfcontrol
Wow AWP3RATOR thanks a LOT for your help ! You helped me immensely ! Thanks to you it is now a lot easier to edit the meshes ! When I'm done I'll ask the creator of the B-35 if I can upload it on the Nexus and you can be sure that I'll give credit to you and kboom ^^. Link to comment
AWP3RATOR
As I was looking through the forum comments on the B-35c, the author noted that while they don't personally use CBBE anyone was welcome to create a patched version that did. I would assume, based on that, you'd have no issues whatsoever in securing that permission. Glad I could help! Drop me a line when it's done, it's a good looking armor. Link to comment
