What’s the best way to setup a perfect Skyrim

Recommended Posts

First off, I will post my load order when I return to my computer. However, this is my fifth run install of Skyrim but I’m having problems with installing it. Usually I use Aniatriax’s skyrim modding guide and in the past, however that person has since removed this post, and moved to another website. But this build allowed me to make the PERFECT Skyrim set up with only one or two crashes a day.

Ana’s new build on that site , seems unfinished and not as correct as before.

Now I’ve made my own build but it still experiences crashes, mostly at certain places like whiterun plains. I’ve used Enb crash fixes but it still happens. Is there anyone out there who can point me to a foolproof guide they use for Skyrim modding? Something that can smooth out compatibilities, doldyn, and enb fixes. Skyrim is life.

Also i do know about gophers videos and they do help, it’s the inbetween I could use some help with.

Thanks guys!

ok i noticed a couple of things in your posted load order that could be better placed (imho)

i would personally move the change the order of ESP files in spots 56 and 57 (just reverse them so that the SLAinimLoader.esp is before the SLALAnimObj.esp)

(i think the SLALAnimObj.esp looks for the SLAnimLoader.esp but i could be wrong)

the file in spot 6E (Males of Skyrim.esp) - does it include a skeleton??  and the SOS stuff seems to be out of order. not to mention that XPMSE should be loaded

after SOS (which does have a skeleton)

what i would do is to move 6D (Schlongs of Skyrim.esp) to before 43 (the beginning of its addons) and move XPMSE to after 6E (Males of Skyrim.esp).

this would ensure that anything looking for SOS will find it (and it should let them all work correctly), and also would make sure that XPMSE would be

the skeleton used by all mods (which may be part of the problem in the Whiterun Plains, there are giants, wolves, and werewolves in there sometimes

and it will crash if they use the wrong skeleton).

if you are using MO it is simply a drag and drop procedure (do both left and right panes), but if you use NMM i think you may have to re-install XPMSE

to be sure that it is your default skeleton.

hope this information is helpful

Alright so i tried this. I thought it worked and it did for a little bit as I walked to Whiterun, but it crashed as soon as I hit battleborn fields plain, a farm right outside of Whiterun. I also suppose this is going to be a bunch of trial and error. So what do you guys suggest?

it is going to be mostly trial and error to find which mod is causing the ctd issue.  but as you keep hitting it near Whiterun, something you can try is to

disable all your mods that change stuff like grass, trees, walls (you know the rock walls scattered around skyrim) and see if this fixes it.

if it does at least you will know that it was caused by one of those mods.

if not you will have to begin the trial and error process (disable a few mods and try again), repeat until you find which mod is causing the problem.

LOOT does do a good job overall, but like anything made by man it is not perfect.  most mods will tell you where they should be in your load order,

but not all do this.

a link (http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Load_order_and_you) that can give you a basic idea of load ordering and generally what types of mods should

go where in load order (its for Fallout New Vegas but the principles remain the same). 2 sections that are the same (for any Bethseda game) are "Load Order

by Category" and "Load Order in Category". the last section (Urepair with FNVEdit) would be replaced by TES5Edit (sometimes written as TESVEdit), there are

a lot of guides for it on the web (google is your friend here).

one other thing to remember is to READ the mod description, and look for specific instructions for the mod.  do this whenever you look at a mod for 3 things

1 - known conflicts, 2 - load order recommendations, and 3 - special instructions.  doing this can save you time and aggravation by preventing issues.  If the

mod has a FAQ it is always a good idea to read it (who knows you might just find the answer to a question you didn't even know you had).

one mod that i do not remember if it said to do so, that a lot of people figured out by the trail and error method, is XPMSE (which is an enhanced version of the

XP32 skeleton) which is the default skeleton mod used by most modders should always be placed near the very end of your load order so that nothing else

overwrites it (unless a mod has special instructions that it must do this, and these mods are very rare).

another thing to remember (you may already know this) is that any mod loaded will overwrite all mods loaded previously.

hope this information is helpful

installing mods randomly and hoping the result work, of course that doesn't work

didn't you said in first post you were still crashing despite following don't know guide?

when you install mods, do it by type, one type at a time

and add gameplay-, body-, armor-,texture-  to the mods folders (or a number)

180124090657380204.jpg

requiem edit a lot of stuff, because of that they say to move it down

requiem and mod x edit the same thing, if mod x doesn't overwrite requiem, mod x can't break requiem

but requiem can break mod x (requiem overwrite mod x that, but not mod x this, and mod xthis require mod x that to work, so it don't work in game)

you want that stuff to work? loading loot or whatever, it's not enought

you install gameplay-high level ennemie, then g-perkus, then g-x g-y, g-z....  and load the game with just that

coc markarth, bat test, test.txt it's player.setav speedmult 1000, tgm, tcl, a few dozen player.addlevel (to get stuff that require level x to load too)

and you do markarth whiterun riften windhelm solitude markarth, with skyrim performance monitor (if your fps drop a lot trying some mods, or you ram ctd, it's better if you can see it)

if you crash before getting back to markarth, you have something to take care of

open papyrus log, there's sites on how to read that, and that's here too

it's nothing complicated, xxyyyyyy have a problem, you go to xxyyyyyy in tesedit, and take a look at the thing that is a problem

you need a patch between mod a and mod b, it's just putting mod a edit in mod b, mod a and mod b edit the same stuff, you have to choose between mod a and b for that

you won't ctd because of scripts, but if a mod scripts are a huge mess, you can expect the esp to be a huge mess too

check for error in tesedit for that (unof patch take care of some you can find in dragonborn or dawnguard, you take a look to know what to do)

there's not everything there, for that, you have to load crap kit, and check errors.txt

armor have sbp 45 and race don't have sbp 45, npc don't have flag unique, idle childsit exist in both dragonborn and heartfire? that doesn't matter

x don't have persistent flag? skyrim.exe will give it its persistent flag, the ones taken care of in game can be ignored too

but tbbp armor without tbbp skeleton, or cell xxyyyyyy have same id as armor xxyyyyyy, that's the ctds you are looking for

then you reload the game and coc markarth for another try

once you can fly over skyrim without problem with your gameplay mods... most is done

you go with npc mods next?

you load the game to check childrens are fine, vampires are fine, femaleheadorc_msn.dds match femalebody_1.dds...

you won't ctd because for lydia game load bijin esp with npc85 nif

you may ctd if mod x add a castle here, and mod y add a house there (mod b navmesh edit overwrite mod a navmesh edit, game don't know what to with mod a door, ctd)

textures mods next?

you won't ctd because texture is replaced by 4k, or 3000*5000, or missing mipmaps (there's smco and texture optimiser for that)

flying over tamriel, it's to check your hardware can handle those mods

weather mods next?

you won't ctd because thunder mod remove weather mod storm climate edit

here you just load the game to check if mod a look better than mod b

town mods next?

if you ctd entering whiterun, there's a conflict between the mod and something

you took care of that kind of stuff with the gameplay mods

you can take care of that, or give up the town mod if it's too much problems to bother fixing it

harder to have no idea how to fix problems that way
