Invisible Hobble Dresses and Purple Textures

Hey all,

Ok so I'm having an issue with DD, Some items make my body invisible, and others just have a bright purple color that I'm guessing indicates a missing texture.

I've looked far and wide, and although I've found many people with the same problem, I have yet to find a solution that has worked for me. I realize that the Bodyslide program is probably the solution to my problems, but I just can't work out exactly what to do. I've run the batch build thing, I've generated a bunch of files which I copypasted into my skyrim's mesh folder, all of it failed to fix my issue.

I am 100% sure that I am doing somethig basic wrong, but I can't seem to find a video that deals with my issue, and all the instructions I've found seem to be of no avail to me. Does anyone have any ideas?

Purple color indeed indicates a missing texture, and that is not a case of doing something wrong with Bodyslide so let's fix that first.

*edit: it would be good to know exactly which items lack their textures. Could it be something from another mod? Did you try just to reinstall it? And also, do you have ENBoost? How much RAM & VRAM do you have?

In theory ENBoost shouldn't be necessary anymore (for this), mircosoft fixed the bug in win10 that not all RAM was used, but if you're low on hardware... it's possible that the textures just aren't loaded.

No what is ENboost?

16.0 GB of ram

4096 MB of VRAM

I can go in and find all the ones that are invisible if you like, but I'm lacking at least all of the hobble dresses from Devious devices, and the missing textures are limited to that mod family as well.

ALso I have, at this point reinstalled zaz like 4 times, and all the members of the DD family as well.

Interestingly, it's the items in Devious devices expansion that are textureless, that's also the one that has the hobble skirts whihc make my body disappear.

I think I solved it! I had failed to install DDX after DDA and DDI.

DDX must be installed last. Thanks for the leading questions guys, I wouldn't have gotten to the bottom of it without them.

Huh... I guess maybe nmm decided that since the requirements were missing to just abort the install...

Unless something just broke in the install the first time and a reinstall fixed.

For anyone stumbling upon this thread in the future, I've been having the same issues as the above and I've reinstalled DDX multiple times, even rolled back to version 4.2 instead of the latest 4.3b (as of now, July 2020), but nothing worked.

I found this thread where they mention that it could most likely be a problem with the Game Data Path setting in BodySlide. I was also was getting a "No-Image" texture on all DDX related outfits, which is the problem they're discussing in the thread. Since I've installed Skyrim on a custom path instead of default C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim path, BodySlide may have a hard time figuring out where the game is installed and will most likely default to the root Skyrim folder of where BodySlide is. This is where the problem occurs. The setting in BodySlide called Game Data Path should point to the Data folder of your Skyrim installation folder since the Data folder is where all the textures are installed. If it just points to the Skyrim directory, no textures will be built along with the outfits, which will make them invisible in-game. So make sure to set the Game Data Path to ...\Skyrim\Data. You can verify if it's working properly if the textures of any DDX outfit is visible and not showing the "No-Image" texture when you click Preview in BodySlide.

This issue is also mentioned in the FAQ of BodySlide at Question 7.

Hope this helps anyone in the future. I've been pulling my hair out trying to fix this and I could imagine I'm not the only one.

TL:DR;

Make sure your Game Data Path in BodySlide settings is set to the Data folder instead of just ...\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim. So it would be ...\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data. Doing this and then Batch Build everything (Build Morphs as well just to be sure) should make it work in-game as well. No more invisible outfits or purple textures!

I had tried everything and couldn't fix this issue. Thanks a lot

I did everything in this post, putting the pathing right ( it was indeed messed up), rerendering everything in bodyslide and making sure expension is installed and loaded after dda and ddi. but unfortunatly it still didnt fix the invisibility issue.

Is there anything else i might be able to try?
