Nexus Mod Manager creating shortcuts instead of working files...

Hello everyone
I wanted to share something I learnt the hard way.
If you use Nexus Mod Manager, before concluding a mod doesn't work, ALWAYS check your folders (scripts, animations, etc).
NMM has sometimes the bad habit of replacing viable working files with shortcuts when installing a mod. And it does not always lead to crashes but to mods simply not responding or working correctly. In this regard, be especially aware that switching profiles is NOT a safe process at all and that a thorough review of your files is necessary after such an action.
Hope this helps some people out there pulling their hair while trying to make things work right.

I am a long time user of MO for Skyrim and I am with you on this one.
But the state of MO2 for F4 and Skyrim SE is... less than optimal at the moment.

Im still using 2.0.8.3 and besides not having profile specific savegames there's nothing i could complain about ?

Not sure how well older/newer versions work.

Yeah I'm using MO 2.1 rev 901bf00 which I got from their dev discord sever files area.  Aside from the profile savegame thing that Vader666 mentioned, it's working very well.

Well guys, thanks for the info about MO2 working fine now.
Because last I checked (several months ago), it was still incredibly glitchy. If it works correctly, I will gladly ditch NMM, for sure.
