pewp43 Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 OK. I'm asking for a click by click/menu by menu guidance through the process of converting an outfit with an armor rating to an outfit that is considered clothing. I've requested clothing versions and sometimes the modder has graciously obliged... I then find that it's a 0 armor rating but still light/heavy armor that the mage armor perk considers "armor." There are too many fantastic mods out there that consider a skimpy dress/skirt/or shoe to be "armor" and all I want is for my mage to be able to wear them without having to give up the mage armor perk. Need an example? Here ya go... http://mitakusaner.blog.fc2.com/blog-entry-883.html Light armor? WHY? It's a mage outfit for cryin' out loud! I'm a smart guy who can follow directions and I will happily upload any conversions I make. I just need a patient soul to teach me.
Vaswind Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 I don't undestand your problem. I'm using my custom mod pack with many different conversion. And a "light armor" atrribute don't mess me. You can easily change "armor" atrribute to "clothing". But you'll got a zero armor rating after that. If you what to roleplay "naked outfit" of magic armor for TDF aroused rape, etc., you should change KWDA from "armor" to "clothing". If you need to set a zeto armor rates and value - just change DATA and DNAM atrributes
pewp43 Posted December 16, 2017 Author Posted December 16, 2017 Huh? I can talk with you all day about Greek literature but that doesn't mean I can speak Greek. I"m not a modder. I'm someone who uses mods. I know OF the Creation Kit. I have no idea of how to do anything with it. Like I said... I need a click by click/menu by menu walkthrough... This "You can easily change" advice is useless. I had to hunt down and follow by the letter a tutorial about how to install Mod Organizer, Bodyside etc. Once I get the basics, I can usually figure the rest of it out... but telling me to change KWDA when I have no idea what KWDA is or where to change it is useless. If you're trolling me it's pointless. I already admitted my ignorance.
LordCazZ Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 1. Open Creation Kit. On the top-left side click on "File" and then "Data". 2. Double Click on "Skyrim.esm" Spoiler 3. Double click on the mod that you want to edit . Then highlight that mod and click "Set as Active File" Spoiler 4.Wait to load Creation Kit.Then on the left menu click on plus sign next to the "Items" Spoiler 5. Click on the "Armor" and then "Form ID". So the latest added or edited items will be on the top. Spoiler 6. Double click the item that you want to edit. Spoiler 7. Change the "Heavy" to "None" if you want the armor to be clothing 8. Then change the armor rating to 0. 9. Then you need the change keywords to act perks normally on that armor.Change them like this. Spoiler 10.Delete the ones that already one there and right click , Add , and search these names. BUT "Clothing Body" keyword needs to be changed according to the armor. So if its a top it will be "ClothingBody". If its a boot it will be "ClothingFeet".And goes like that. 11. When you are done click one the "File" on top-left corner. And then click "Save". Soo thats it. Hope it's clear enough. And finally sorry for my english , it's not my native language.

Assuming I can make it work, you just earned yourself a credit in any mods I upload. And your english id just fine. Thanks.
Frankfranky Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 or you could use TES5edit. I think it is easier than fighting with the creation kit. Just load up the pluggin with the armour you want to use. Open up the armour entry. Toward the bottom you will see 4 flags. One of them will be cloth/light/heavy. You want to change this to cloth. Right click the light/heavy flag, edit, say yes when it asks are you sure, then enter 6BBe8 (this is the code for cloth). Close tes5edit. Done. This is the only thing that things like mage armor looks at.
myuhinny Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 I have never fought with the CK or had any problems with it other then problems caused by my fucking something up or forgetting something. Just make sure to save after each armor piece you update just in case the CK does happen to crash for some reason you won't have to start all over again.
Gameplayer Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 Pro Tip, Never uninstall the creation kit. Steam will uninstall your entire game and likely all the added content in there. >< Many a true nerd has fallen victim to that.
