RPGKnight Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 I've downloaded a bunch of mods for Skyrim with mod manager, but they don't appear to installed the right place as Skyrim doesn't show them in Data Files. This is where I placed it. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Mod Organizer I suspect it may have been because I didn't run Mod Organizer's installer as Administrator, since the installation path is in Program files. But then how do I make a backup of all the mods I've downloaded to undo the damage?
Hannahavok Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 Mods installed with Mod Organiser are not placed in the Data folder, but are instead linked by the programme. You need to launch the game through the mod organiser to have the mods in the game.
RPGKnight Posted November 25, 2017 Author Posted November 25, 2017 I'm launching Skyrim through Mod Manager with the SKSE.
Hannahavok Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 Okay, I'm having trouble understanding the exact problem here. If you launch the game, no mods load? Or is it something else that I am missing here?
Bazinga Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 What's an "SKSE launcher"? When you run the game through SKSE (skse_loader.exe) there is no launcher, it gets skipped.
RPGKnight Posted November 25, 2017 Author Posted November 25, 2017 https://imgur.com/a/w0r22 Well basically SKSE is downloadable in the Steam store, I'm useing that to launch Skyrim in Mod Manager. It used to work before I deleted Skyrim and reinstalled it.
Hannahavok Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 I still don't see a problem here. When you click launch, it should take you straight into the game, there is not supposed to be a launcher of any kind.
RPGKnight Posted November 25, 2017 Author Posted November 25, 2017 Okay my bad, it seems all the mods load perfectly with the SKSE. Consider this resolved.
RPGKnight Posted November 27, 2017 Author Posted November 27, 2017 Sorry I have to open the thread again, so I uninstalled some mods and now SKSE opens the menu instead of hopping straight into the game. As a result none of mods are being loaded.
Nazzzgul666 Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Check your config in MO. SKSE does not start the menu, something you've named SKSE might.
RPGKnight Posted April 21, 2018 Author Posted April 21, 2018 Just posting the real resolution, it was because I had Steam set to administrator and so the mod manager needed to be run as administrator to run the game with mods.
