Asariphile Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 What does everyone think? I loved the vanilla eyes as they were subtle unless you were stage 4 vampire. I find the new eyes ridiculous as everyone can tell exactly what you are even at stage one. I mean if a guy walks up to you with glowing yellow eyes your gonna run for cover. It would be one thing if they were stage 4 only. Do any other RP'rs find them utterly ridiculous? I mean they are cool looking, but isn't the point of being a vampire to blend in?
greenquesadilla Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 wear a mask? jk. though, maybe not everyone knows that glowing eyes = vampire. they know that you look weird with your eyes glowing, but they don't think much of it since they don't know how to tell if someone is a vampire (i'm guessing). the only people that attack on sight are the dawnguard since they are experts on it. that is what i tell myself to keep immersion.
drakai Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Yep, totally ridiculous. I changed mine via console.
Clarkson Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Not stupid at all. Not everyone has knowledge of vampires and in a society like Skyrims things like this are usually filled with rumour and misconceptions about things they dont understand. i dont know how you think yellow eyes break immersion yet people are fine with talking lizard people.
Liod Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 I agree that they are a bit immersion breaking, I just account for it with Illusion magic or a Dragon Priest mask.
GodSmack Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 glowing eyes are only for vampire lords arent they?
Duoleb The Chosen Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 haven't you learned that glowing eyes means that you're badass Wizard
Jexsam Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I assume the glowy is some sort of passive psychic manipulation that masks their vampireyness from normal mortals so long as they're well fed. Problem solved, immersion intact.
jbezorg Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Not stupid at all. Not everyone has knowledge of vampires and in a society like Skyrims things like this are usually filled with rumour and misconceptions about things they dont understand. i dont know how you think yellow eyes break immersion yet people are fine with talking lizard people. The problem I had was that the Vampire Hunters in Dawnguard do and to start the quest line you have to join them by talking to their leader. Not a problem. Unless you're already playing a vampire and you talk to the one guy in Skyrim who is suppose to know everything about them... With my glowing eyes and all...
