TheOzoneHole Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 Apparently (according to rumor) there were four people doing the main quest design and they didn't talk to each other as much as they should have so FO4 ended up being a very combat heavy game. Unlike previous Fallout games there are no skills only perks, and the difference is noticeable. Stealth is much more difficult, even with all five perks in "Sneak." In previous games when the "Caution" warning popped up enemies would start looking for you. In FO4 by that point they have a very good idea as to where you are and will start shooting in your direction at random trying to hit you. As long as you go into the game understanding that you are pretty much playing a First-Person Shooter that has quests, you are fine. Regarding the voiced player character, I find it really distracting to be talking during conversations. I agree that the PC making random comments (Saint's Row 2 comes to mind) during game play would be fine. In fact they didn't do what I feel they should have done, which is have the PC make comments in and around the map. This was the player's home! They should make comments about how things used to be before the war. As for the creation club, it really looks like a cash shop for the PS4 players. Even the Xbox players can get stuff through Beth.net but the PS4 players got shafted by Sony so by having them buy stuff it gives them some modding options. Over priced, crappy options, but options. The only real issue that the cc presents to PC users is that all the content will download to your computer and take up space. What they are actually selling you is the .esp file to make the content work in game.
khumak Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 IMO the CC is irrelevant to PC gamers. The content is vastly overpriced and there will always be free mods. The same is true for Skyrim SE. I don't own Fallout 4 yet but I do plan to buy it once the GoTY edition drops down to around $20 or so. Until then I'll just continue playing TTW when I want my Fallout fix.
Kelinas Posted November 23, 2017 Posted November 23, 2017 CC fell on it's face with it's early options, half of them were basically trying to compete with free alternatives that did the job so much better. It's options for the PS4 crowd, but unless there's REALLY something you want like maybe the crossover gear, the only addition CC did was introduce their workaround to be used for some Skyrim SE and FO4 mini-mods. I've already ran into the occasional FO4 mod that uses the non-esp format, it'll only grow in future I'm sure. Soyeah, unless Bethesda steps up it's game and adds stuff that's actually well-done, Creation Club may as well not exist. In short though, FO4 is gameplay wise a major step up over a Project Nevada improved FO3/NV, but the story is lacking. If you're looking just at mods and gameplay, it's honestly pretty solid and worth at the least the base game and season pass pickup for the full pack.
Guest O.Cobblepot Posted November 23, 2017 Posted November 23, 2017 I was waitting 2 years after fallout 4 realease, then bought it :D lots of amazing mods was developed then, price went down greatly(GOTY ~23$),never had better game in my life,CC stuff is a joke, you can overcome it very easy.
