DIRECT QUESTION : Do Skyrim manage animations of a specific part of the body or only the whole body ?

Hi guys,

For those who are good with 3ds , is it possible to create an animation by connecting together : ie , a face animation with a walking animation.   And, if affirmative, does Skyrim manage sub-animation ?

In other words (still with that exemple), is it possible to make (and export) animation of everything below the belly (walking) and make and export another animation (a single face animation) in a second file and play them in the same time in Skyrim ?

The idea is to create infinite number of animations just by combining lot of sub-animations which are not necessarly connected :

- the eyes

- the face (+ jaw ?)

- jaw ?

- the head + neck

- the hands + fingers

- the arms + shoulders

- whole torso

- hips + legs + feet

with that system, it will be very easy to re-use animations to build a new one without having to animate everything again . This will be very good to use all-ready made quality animations (like a precise facial expression) and bundle it with a new jumping animation.   Even for a precise facial expression (ie ; anger) , many variants can be created so Skyrim will be able to pick up 1 randomly.

The global goal with be to build a huge library of sub-animations rather than few static global-animations.

sorry, i dont understand. I dont have buy Skyrim yet.  So could not check up my self into the files. For exemple, do any facial animation exists by its own ?  Drinking a glass of water is possible when standing up or do you have to be necessarly sitting somewhere (single animation)?

Buy Skyrim and the DLC's from Steam anyways, then you can find out.

A far as i know you have full body animations and arm offsets wich act like a layer for everything below collarbone.

Facial expressions and stuff is done with morphs so completely independed from animation.
