KoolHndLuke Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 OK. Sure, we have mods for it and stuff. But are the mods really making it that much better? The idea of leading a trio of raider gangs was a stupid one imo. Wouldn't it have been better to just have it be this spooky, dark park overrun by nothing but bloodthirsty creatures and crazy, malfunctioning robots? No dialogue to fix, no npcs to tweak or re-do, no quests to fix or "blend" in with the rest of the game. Just you, your companions and as much fire power as you can carry. What would be the reward you ask? Hmm. How about unique weapons with equally unique effects. Not enough you say? Well give me some ideas. What kind of "Nudeka" World mod would you like to see? Lets make it our playground- LL style. What I am shooting for here is more of a "Escape from NY" feel- for those who know what I mean. Total lawlessness and a complete absence of morals. It is survival of the fittest or the best armed and armored. There will be no "story" save for a few mystery quests and stuff. Vendors will be replaced by vending machines similar to what was in the dead money dlc for NV. In fact this might "borrow" quite a few ideas from there. I might even strip you of all weapons and clothing to make you survive naked!! Of course you will cheat and console your stuff- or will you? I will make it to where each time you re-enter the park it will get harder. Hopefully this will discourage some cheating. If you use console to kill enemies- I will "punish" you for it. I WILL make it extremely dangerous!!!! You have been warned! Like I said, there is no good or bad- only surviving with as many goodies as you can find with at least one "motherload". Oh, and one new enemy I plan on introducing is the T-series of assaultrons. You can guess what the "T" stands for.
Karna5 Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 This is a very intriguing idea, my friend. With regard to leading the trio of gangs, I've played Nuka World DLC at least five or six times and have always slaughtered all the gangs almost as soon as I meet them. I had no interest in fitting in with them and always simply thought they needed to die *Laughs* So we are probably in agreement there. In fact, in the last few playthroughs I start off right away killing the scammer at the train entrance. This said, though, is it easier to overhaul a whole DLC (or create a new one), or is it easier simply to create a whole bunch of new monsters and NPCs and populate them where you want and work them into the game somewhere. I for one could probably not do either because I have not tackled the Bethesda scripting techniques or what's required to do them. Before I went blind I was an ANSI C/C++ software developer and designer, but those days are past for me. I would like to comment on the concept of punishing console commands. That would probably work against people who don't know how to use FO4Edit to create their own outfits, but as nearly anything is possible with FO4Edit any modders who send their characters into Nudeka world wouldn't really need console commands anyway. As for Escape from New York, that's surely one of the best post-apocalyptic settings invented. I recall it had a large guy with a nailed bat. Theoretically, then, one could create a large-scale human NPC with either a spiked bat or a nail board and put that into Nudeka world. I imagine there are a lot of things which exist nearly correctly and could be tweaked. Thanks for the post!

Trampoline assualtrons?, they would be hard to hit bouncing up an down like that. Put them on pogo sticks for more maneuverability though P series Assualtrons just doens't have the right ring to it.
