About
This mod is a Porn TV playlist that will make it easy for modders to create their own porn videos and add it to this without the videos conflicting with each other, thus allowing multiple modder's videos to be loaded into the game. The reason for doing this is because user PawgLife has recently messaged me asking if I wanted to collaborate with him. This mod is in its infancy so don't expect much out of it for now unless more people want to add to it. This mod will be updated periodically. If you want to reserve spots in the playlist, post in the thread (for this mod). Include a link to your video mod thread. If I don't respond, please PM me instead as that will notify me via my gmail account.

 

P.S. Test your videos thoroughly, they DO crash all the time.
P.P.S. You can include this playlist in your video mod for ease of use. I don't recommend renaming it though, that would cause confusion.
P.P.P.S. If someone's video is causing problems (game crashing), please message them to troubleshoot, not here.

Tutorial & Tools
Tutorial on how to convert video files so that they will be compatible with The Sims 4, this is the one that I followed. Please read EVERYTHING carefully, one error and you are fucked. Video conversion is super tedious and annoying. Download my videos and "reverse engineer" them so you can see how I got my videos set up. If your video crashes in-game (after video finishes, The Sims 4 freezes), then you will have to reprocess that video again, from the original .mp4 file, to pre .avi file, to final compatible .vp6 .avi file. You could be lucky and have it working at the beginning, or unlucky and have to reprocess the video 2 to 7 times (or even more). SUPER ANNOYING TO DO.

List of Tools (from tutorial above)

• S4PE (Download from github.com - I use release v0.1d): This tool is needed for working with the packages.
• VP6 Video Codec from On2 Technologies (Download from marc.simon999.free.fr): This is the Video Codec for Sims 4 Movies.
• VirtualDub (Download from Sourceforge.net): I've used version 1.10.4 (stable) (x86) and with it we will create the right movie files.
• ffdshow (Download from Sourceforge.net): This tool expands the supported video codecs for the input video file in VirtualDub.
  Not essential, but I need it to open AVI files with XVID codec (e.g. files converted by FreeStudio). Simply try to open the video you want to use in Sims 4, if it doesn't work, install ffdshow.
• Generic Stream Creator (Download from ppmsite.com): This tool creates the right Audio Codec, but it has no UI, it's a command-line tool.
• UI for Generic Stream Creator by Siberian GRemlin (Download from ppmsite.com): This is a simple to use GUI for the tool above.
• VP6 Converter by Siberian GRemlin (Version 0.05 from ppmsite.com or Version 0.08 from planetcnc.ru): This tool merges the Video and Audio stream to the final Video file.
• VLC MediaPlayer (Download from videolan.org ): Not necessary, but it is more comfortable with it, because it supports much more codecs than the Windows Media Player.
• FreeStudio (Download from dvdvideosoft.com ): Not necessary, but with it you can simply resize and convert your custom video file.

Great idea, but I am wondering do you leave both packages in the folders and drop them in mods, or combine the 2 zips? overwriting dupes?

I've been wanting to make my own porn channel, but I've seen the tutorial and am like @_@. even after reading your description of this mod, I'm unsure of how it's supposed to work exactly, most likely because I don't understand programming mods like this. if you can, would you mind explaining this more in depth?

Well, the hardest part of doing this is converting the videos, because the videos themselves are so prone to breaking that you have to do it over and over again until The Sims 4 doesn't crash after it finishes playing. I haven't found a way to perfectly convert the video without error, I am not gonna go in-depth into the conversion process because that tutorial I linked to explains everything nicely already. Anyways, implementing the finished converted videos into .package files is super easy, it just involves renaming a few things.

 

I'll use my 10th video as an example.

1. Okay, so you got your .avi file that you finished converting.

 

2. Open up S4PE (Sims 4 Package Editor)

 

3. Drag your .avi file into the large white space in S4PE, this will open up a new dialog window.

 

4. In the first text field that's labeled "Type", type in _AVI 0x376840D7 exactly, with the space there too. All videos in the romance (porn) category have this in the "Type" text field.

 

5. Skip the second text field and leave it as it is. Go to the third text labeled "Instance", this is where you put the playlist "instance", in my case of the 10th video of my mod. I am gonna insert 0xABC0000000000010 into the text box. Of course, you should be using one of the many "instances" in the playlist I have created above. Press OK when you are done.

 

6. Save the .package file (CTRL + S) and rename it to something that can be easily sorted.

 

7. That's it, you're done. Put it in your Sims 4 Mod folder along with the Collaborative playlist .package and you're good to go

EDIT: Needed to be mention, my videos still eventually crash after processing with these settings. I just can't find a way around it other than having to repeat it until it doesn't crash. Very annoying process to convert videos.

That tutorial I posted is as simple as it's gonna get.  Not to mention the two posts I made in this thread explains the things I do that are not in the tutorial (prepping video for conversion, adding videos to .package)

Say @AirplaneRandyhas WickedWhims implemented the ability to watch Porn Videos on separate new channels (that also increase the Sims Sex skill when they watch it)? Kind of like KinkyWorld has already done for Sims 3 (since version v0.2.5a)? This would be something I would look forward to.

Just a little thing, but could we stick with the term "Porn Channel"? I just went looking to see if anyone other than Randy had actually done any videos, but the term "TV" is unsearchable and "Porn" is way too non-specific, so I couldn't find anything if it does exist... "Channel" is the only unique term that works, but so far it really only appears here, in Randy's release thread, or where people are talking about Randy's release thread.

The Sims 4 Data Tool link has been dead for over 3 months. Lots of people saying it's been even before that. I did find out that Zerbu - The Sims 4 Mod Workshop is supposed to do everything and more that the Data Tool did. Have you looked at that workshop yet? Also the S4Studio is able to extract and edit the Data as well.

 

I followed the original thread of how to do this, before finding this thread. I was hoping that since I use your TV mod, and it works flawlessly, that you had updated information. A few of the programs/links from the original are dead, so it's really a dead thread now. :-(

 

Thanks for all you do in the modding community. I love your TV mod. It always gets my Sims "in the mood" LOL

I have the 1.1 version of this mod and have found that it is not working on the TV's in my game and im not sure why. Is anyone able to offer any advice/ ideas? Would be most greatful thank you
