Arilia Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 A mod with a trigger-happy banhammer is bad, and stifles modding innovation, but I look on the bright side. It's not as bad as the Sims modding community! There was an elite pay-to-download modding site dominating the Sims for years. It was horrible, couldn't even download half the mods without being a VIP, but they accomplished this because the webmasters aggressively hacked, defamed, and destroyed competing sites like the Mafia. It was so bad the most popular strategy site disallowed talking about mods entirely to avoid the whole issue. It gave mods this horrible negative view in the eyes of the public, like modding was a disease. Skyrim overall has a incredibly positive and open-minded modding community. It's one of the best communities I've been a part of, something I'm thankful for, especially since so few console-available games support modding at all. The Nexus does have some questionable practices I'd like changed, but overall, it allows more explicit content than most popular sites I've seen for game mods. They are treading a thin line between what most of society currently considers acceptable or not. The old guard making national laws still says the human body is something shameful to be shunned and hidden. It's difficult to push against that without getting massive negative media attention.
Demonhunter Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Ive been warned about three times their. mostly because of pictures. http://gyazo.com/981cfb594921eb6b4bab30d669322222.png?1367057132 I know i was being creative.... once by Dante, or because i swear at trolls. But recently i removed all my mods from their site and also steam, i had about 29 weapon mods, some popular some not. But got so sick of people saying "oooo i like this but you should change this or you just get stupid comments." I have my own visions for the mods i make. I know that sounds uptight but if they want to change it they can. I lurked here for a while and found people to be honest and kind, so i would much rather post my content here. LL is a really good place.
Lagoon0654 Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Stll trying to figure out how so many of you get banned from there, lol. I've been there for about a year and a half and made over hundred posts, Never gotten a warning. Then again I stick to the same few sections, the muscle girl project at new vegas nexus, and one or two for skyrim. Guess being low-key keeps me out of trouble. Wonder if zomb_killer posts here...
lordofthedread Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 I am using Nexus since way before playin Skyrim and I never had a single problem, of course I dont make mods and when I post an image I usually try to keep my toon dressed. I usually dont flame others (if you see me doing it please let me know, mistakes can happen). All in all I think Nexus is a great place to get mods, way better than steam workshop anyway, the mod manager is a great tool and I dont care if some moderators are asses because everywhere you go there is a big chance you will meet asses that's human nature, best is just to ignore them. I am also glad we have places like loverslab where we can discuss more freely about mature and sex topics and post whatever image we want without the risk of getting banned
dobmc Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 I wonder how many of you members are actually 20 or above. Well, because of stupid comments and such. I wouldn't count bad grammar because quiet a lot of you guys are not native English speakers. But still... these "beggars" just irritate me when they ask for something that could be easily done by typing a single word in the search tool, or just surfing a little bit in the site. It just gets worse and worse every week.

Koko.Hekmatyar Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Age means nothing and in no way does it determine someones Mental maturity. I've met kids who were not even 18 yet let alone 20 who act more mature then men and women who are 30 - 40+ in age.

Of course I don't expect all of the gaming community to be mature however I still expected that users(especially the "adults" in this forum) to have some degree of maturity and(I forget to mention,) independence. Obviously they've lived in society for more than 2 decades at least. But somehow some of these individuals manage to function no less than a 8 year old can do. Probably better off being pampered by the "Loverslab babysitter center". But well if there are underage users, then I can't say much anymore. I just hope I won't go running off replying: "What are you? A kid in diapers?" to every "stupid" comment in this forum. Age means nothing and in no way does it determine someones Mental maturity. I've met kids who were not even 18 yet let alone 20 who act more mature then men and women who are 30 - 40+ in age. I've considered that already, but damn I wasn't ready for this level of immaturity especially on this forum. The level of functionality was out of my expectations. Or maybe I'm confused. May I ask, what does "maturity" mean to you? To me I define maturity by the 'level of independence'.

Sorry to say but most adults in real life are not even responsible enought to take care of their own lives, a lot of them are just assisted by their social environment so you cant really expect to have it different on a forum. That said I think the community here on Loverslab is way better than what I have seen in many other gaming forums, you still cant avoid stupidity, if stupid people were flying you would never see the sun anymore. The best you can do is ignore the stupid comments and stuck to the ones you like, the like button is a great tool for that. When you say in your signature that the internet stupidity is so high, sadly this is just a mere reflection of the actual world, that doesnt mean you cant have a rational discusiion with smart human beings, even on a gaming forum.

Most of the adults you might say that are...'mentally challenged' are like that because they don't want to take charge. I've been faced with and worked with adults that are probably no more than a petulant child. And they probably need a slap of reality to get there. Sadly, this doesn't work since the internet allows the anonymity of self and consequences. Chillingly, it takes but one remark to set shit off really. In regards to the topic, I rarely go on SkyrimNexus to socialise. I go there to get my mods, and get out. Some of the bug fixes, I'd just note and let the author know through PM. Much easier and mature than shouting over the hordes of petulant adults and children screaming their idiotic desires.

What an insult. So you mean that we're still in our diapers? I beg to differ. Unless, you were talking about independence in terms of our capability to survival in nature(mother nature... Something like that). Well of course we can't just suddenly return to the wilds and survive like monkeys, duh(sorry couldn't hold it). Instead what I was talking about was our independence in society. You know, like managing our food supply, daily schedule, health and such. Of course most adults are being assisted by their social environment, but what I meant is the ability to "maneuver" inside the system, which in this case is the "social environment" you speak of. But I'll take your advice. Indeed it is the best choice to just ignore. I don't get why the like button would help in the long term but it would probably be better if there was a dislike button however, I wouldn't recommend such voting system. Oh yea and my signature? I changed it just for you *smiles* Most of the adults you might say that are...'mentally challenged' are like that because they don't want to take charge. Hm, they are completely healthy and stable yet they show symptoms of "laziness"... Ah fuck, I hate these guys really, managing to graduate through college to receive their sweet ass Bachelor's degree only to just slack off at work. But well, can't be too greedy. Since we're all just a spec of dust compared to the galaxy. And also, I agree.

I absolutely can expect a gaming community to be all mature. And you kinda contradicted that first statement with the 2nd one. I agree 100% that there's underage users on this site, and they continue to keep their accounts specifically because they don't act like 12 yr olds. TBPH, I don't give a single shit what your (rhetorical your) physical age is. If you (rhetorical you) are mentally 12, then please be mentally 12 away from me.

You will have to do that yourself, cant get others to be what you'd expect them to be.... If you want to change the world, start by applying the changes to yourself
