So is it? I would like to edit somethings like to female body but its in the bsa. So should i unpack them and is it safe or is there an easier way going about something like that?

Only extract what you need anything more just eats up your hard drive space. If you extract only 1 item you'll have to make your folder pathway for the file you are going to alter if you extract more then 1 item it'll extract the file and folder pathway for you. At least that's how it is with using FOMM to extract files from BSA's.

My understanding is that if you unpack the bsa outside the skyrim directory, do whatever editing you want, and then put the files you've edited back using the same folders and file names as they had in the bsa, they should override the files in the bsa.

Or more simply put: you should be fine, as long as you only keep the files you edit.

EDIT: Looks like I got ninja'd while reading up on things to make sure I wasn't way off.
