Sorry, I can't help you with MO as I do not use it.

Perhaps if you ask on the DD support threads?

I use Vortex too.

Well it's not a great idea to use two managers and I don't use Vortex either.

Yes, I know. But some mods puts on their requirements that I need MO to work correctly.

How'd you solve it and get the groups to show up correctly? I'm having the same issue

If you're using MO, you may need to hold ctrl while pressing the batch-build key so you can put the files in the correct place.

I know this is an old post now, but what is the correct place? Character assets?

Hi so I use Vortex and had the same problems.

But I am happy to say that after a bit of keyboard face planting, this thread, and some bodyslide tutorials I fixed the issue.

I will try to explain the 'fix' for vortex users, at least from what happened for me.

Vortex saves my mods, not in the skyrim data folder, but in its own directory.

e.g. E:\Vortex Mods

So needless to say all the bodyslide data for the devious devices mods wasn't showing up in bodyslide, because bodyslide was looking in the skyrim data folder and was like, dude no files.

Step 1. Do the bodyslide create CBBE HDT body 'fix' already detailed earlier in this thread.

Step 2. Go to your bodyslide mod folder in the Vortex Mods folder.

E:\Vortex Mods\skyrim\BodySlide and Outfit Studio - v5.1.0-49015-5-1-0-1597092712\CalienteTools\BodySlide

Copy the folder called 'Bodyslide' and save it in the skyrim Data folder.

E:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data\tools

Step 3. Go to your Devious devices folders (Assets and expansion) and copy the 3 folders in there and paste to the Data folder.

E:\Vortex Mods\skyrim\DDa-3.0e\CalienteTools\BodySlide

E:\Vortex Mods\skyrim\Devious Devices - Expansion 4.3a\CalienteTools\BodySlide

Don't worry about sorting each one individually, just click replace all when prompted.

Now Bodyslide should see all the devices.....because now they are actually there.

Step 4. Run the batch build method for bodyslide to resize the clothes properly to your CBBE HDT body you made earlier.

Hope this helps you all get yo kink on :P

I should be able to see the body when I select the object I'm trying to edit, right? because the bodies are not showing up in the preview window

Usually, you only see the body for an item in the preview window if that item uses the body slot (as those items actually replace the character's body when worn, so need to provide one of their own if the item leaves any skin visible.) Occasionally, a conversion leaves a reference body included on a non-body slot item, either by accident or to help show in BodySlide how the item will look when equipped in-game. So, in Devious Devices for example, you should see the body for a straitjacket or hobble dress, but not for a chastity belt, harness, pair of boots etc.

Generally, for anyone struggling with BodySlide, I'd advise reading/watching a few tutorials on how to use it, and always make sure you're running it through whichever mod manager you use. Speaking from personal experience, it's not an easy thing to get to grips with, as many tutorials seem to have been put together on the assumption that those using it already know the basics - meaning it can be difficult to find something that actually teaches you the basics. Do enough research, however, and you'll get the hang of things eventually.

For Devious Devices in particular, you can try this guide, although I'm not sure how up-to-date it is these days, and Laura has a more recent one in the opening post of her Bondage Shop support topic, which can be found where the red text begins.

Hey I hope this i not necro posting but I know this is a common issue and starting new thread seems a bit wrong

so I too have this issue ive read every guide I can find and still happening

so ive opened up bodyslide ive opened the one that sits in SteamLibrary>steamapps>common>skyrim>data>Bodyslide

I use out.body HDT tho ive tried others on the thought maybe im doing the wrong.

I got to the top right and selected all the groups then I go to the bottom right and select batch build the right items groups/folders are all there.

but when I boot up skyrim the relevant items are still invisible.

can anyone super duper please tell me where ive been going wrong coze ive been working on this for an embarrassingly long time now.
