Mashi Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Thanks for the tip. I'll try that with the esp and see what happens. Not a problem. If I didn't get so side tracked between work and everything else, I might get my own side projects done. One thing I forgot to add last night is, you can have lvl0 perks, but you need to make sure you set the variables right. Other stuff goes boom. See the LordDeathChallengePerk for example
Golgo13 Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 I hope that the new perks stay. I assumed that they were to be available for future use by whomever chose to use them in their mod, and ignored by everyone else. I'd guessed that the Hu-Cow "perk" would become available only after one took the enormous boob perk, completing one's transformation into a complete freak. I didn't know who might be working on the gigantic boob body alteration; I was going to watch with amused interest. IRL, I prefer giving gravity as little opportunity as possible to turn a potential mate's breasts into pendulous "love bags." But, in Japan, I saw a lot of weird manga, including one containing a story which suggests to me that this Hu-Cow idea is more widely conceptualized than I would have imagined (not that surprising for Japan, where large breasts seem to be a supposed "ideal.") "Bottle of Human Breast Milk" is already in the game, as an instantaneous, kind-of "Super-Hydra." I was forced to imagine how the perk would work (always a bad sign), and I supposed, first, that, under ideal conditions, the character would be able to create the item, "Bottle of Human Breast Milk." Since that is a pretty potent item, I could see putting limitations on it-- like needing to consume extra purified water and meet certain minimum food requirements (like "recipes," but less stringent) to generate a bottle of it. Or, maybe the perk would enable the character to feed by grazing, if they immediately grew a pregnant-state body to accommodate the necessary four stomachs. Obviously, as in real life, there would be a cooldown. And, I assumed that the product couldn't be obtained without equipping the "milker," completing one's ludicrous appearance. (Well, maybe equip the collar with the cowbell on it if you want to get technical about, "complete.") When the requirements to create the "Bottle of Human Breast Milk" were not met, the milker could still obtain bottles of milky purified water at whatever the equivalent rate would be (what is the relative volume of a FONV water bottle compared to a Sexout "Bottle of Human Breast Milk" bottle, anyway?). An ever-lactating body, like an ever-perspirating or ever-urinating body, would need to be ever-drinking. I would suppose that, unless the perk is not merely introducing ultra-weird science fiction but the outright magical, as well, Wild Wasteland isn't "wild" enough to create an ever-flowing spring of breast milk, ex nihilo. I envisioned the exhibitionist perk to work like the "Solar Powered" perk, except that, instead of requiring sunlight, it required spectators. You could take it at two levels: unlike Solar Powered, which starts you out at an immediate +2, you start at +1 and can get to +2. Or, if there is a way to do it (there probably isn't), you get a bonus based on the number of spectators within a certain viewing distance of you, maybe ranging from 0-3 or 0-2. The one allowing dietary needs to be met is pretty straightforward, except for the "from whatever source" part. That brought to mind images of what the "other sources" could be, and how one would go about obtaining the "meals." Cover one's self in the smell of that animal's sex odor, then go harvesting? Idk-- I assumed that someone else had already thought this stuff out, and that I was just trying to understand their concept. The Lips perk is described as being as powerful as a weapon. WAG's going through my head as to how it might work included presenting the opportunity to turn enemies neutral or friendly (with the right "encouragement"); and greatly increasing the likelihood of enemies breaking off an attack if one holsters their weapon and provides a gratuity. Beyond that, I'm not sure what is possible without breaking people's mods/the game. Again, I'd expected that someone else had really thought all of this out, somehow. The "Girl Next-Door" perk sounded funny-- if it were not grayed out, I might have taken it, even though nothing suggested that it would actually do anything. The description paints a picture of hiding-in-plain-sight invisibility. If people can run around in stealth suits, turning invisibility on and off basically at will, I can imagine using a perk slot to run around in an "human wallpaper" suit. To make sense, however, I would probably put some charisma limitation on it. Charisma isn't a measure of physical beauty (see: Hitler); but, I've seen it used as a gauge of physical appearance in these mods. If there is any measure of physical appearance connected to the charisma stat, one shouldn't look too exceptional if one intends to fade into the background. Maybe a starting charisma of 4-6 would be a prerequisite. The Tight Behind perk (or whatever) looked of dubious value. Perhaps, it would allow hookers to make a few extra caps in tips-- I'm not sure how the added pain element would be incorporated-- an occasional endurance check to avoid screaming out in pain? Inability to handle super-mutants without reconstructive surgery? Some customers might even like the screaming a lot MORE. I can't recall what other new perks had been added, at the moment. Even if one person sees no purpose for the perks, I can't imagine any reason to get rid of them. They're categorized under "Wild Wasteland," so, only someone already looking for weird will even find them. For that matter, I'm not even sure that all of the perks are any weirder than some of the mods that are offered; some perks could arguably be moved off the "Wild Wasteland" list, altogether. If anyone wanted to give them effect in their mod, they could; otherwise, not. But, if they're just eliminated, what is accomplished but prevention of someone from taking advantage of a feature that they liked? Anyway, that just crossed my mind as I crossed this thread.
Halstrom Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 They're still in there as placeholders, I just set them to hidden a couple of versions ago in SCR, anyone interested is welcome to write an esp for them to finish them and I will merge it into the main SCR file
Kodiak Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Like Hal just explained, they are placeholders currently. Many of the ones you rattled off were from the perk list I had submitted and are working on. I have a pretty solid idea on how the my perks should work. Its more of a question of can I get them to that point within the contraints of GECK. Thus far, its proving more difficult then expected. In previous posts, I'm pretty sure I explain my expectations for each perk off of my list. In addition, development on the perk list is going to be on hold on my end for the next month as I prepare to move cross country. Trust me though, Hal will get the esp as soon I am fully satisfied with each perk working properly. If its getting this much attention, I will make a WIP thread for the ones I'm working on.
