Vampire black face bug

I've seen a number of people with this problem but no one seems to have an answer for me that works. 

 

Vampires in my game all have dark faces - as far as I can tell it's only unnamed vampires, not ones such as Hern/Hert/Volkihar. My friend told me it's an issue with UNP (I'm using CBBE so? I assume it's just a body mod in general if that's the case), I've seen people saying it's caused by hair mods (I'm using SG and KS), I've also seen people say that Humanoid Vampires no eyes edit fixes it (it didn't for me). 

 

Basically, does anyone have a clue what ACTUALLY causes this? And do you have a fix for it. It's fine if I can't get it working, they're just unnamed vampires and I can live with it, but if I can fix it that would be nice.

Can I update them myself or do I have to wait for the mod authors? How would I go about updating them?

Look at threads for any mods you have that affect face/eyes/vampires and see if there is a newer version. Make sure they load after USLEEP. If they won't update, ask yourself if you really really need that mod.

Well I tested a new save and installed all my vampire mods one at a time, then went into a vampire dungeon to check. The vampires are fine. So I'm confused as to why they have black faces in another game that was also a new save. I must have a different mod somewhere that affects vampires I guess??? 

 

Either way I'm updating a lot of mods so I'll start a new game with everything installed and see if they still have the bug. This is weird and annoying >_>

You can also just copy the facegen data from USSEP into an override file for any of the mods that haven't carried it forward.  That's what I did for mods like Diversity that haven't been updated.

Thanks! Can you plz provide with steps to do this I seriously can not play with this issue, and I have creation kit but don't know how to use it.

I have never been able to get the SE version of the creation kit to work either.  I use SSEEDIT.  The thing that usually causes the black faces is having multiple mods that all change the head parts of the NPC.  The facegen files from the last mod that touches that NPC has to match the head parts or you'll get a black face. 

 

So as an example Immersive College of Winterhold changes pretty much everything about most of the NPCs at the college except that it leaves the head parts unchanged for some of them and changes them for others.  So Faralda as an example it leaves with the vanilla head parts while Mirabelle's head parts get changed (by head parts I mean the ESP records for hair, eyebrows, etc).  The female NPC appearance mod I use is Botox which is generated based on vanilla head parts.  So with ICOW + Botox, Faralda gets the new Botox appearance but Mirabelle gets a black face.  If I use SSEEDIT to change Mirabelle's head parts back to vanilla (just drag them from skyrim or USSEP), then Mirabelle gets the new Botox appearance as well and no black face.

 

It's the same idea for any other NPC and any other mod that touches NPCs including vampires.
