Nexus censors Loverslab... Da Fudge?

So I was around the nexus asking for permissions and etc. for a mod I'm doing. I type in "loverslab" into the message, and nexus censors it out and replaces it with "link not allowed" or something like that. Come on... Does nexus have to be this childish about it? Instead, I just typed LL and hoped the author gets my point.

Unless the mods on nexus are utterly inept (a distinct possibility) then they've likely filterd tinyurl and other such sites, I know I tend to add them to filters when I mod/admin stuff if only because of how much they're used in spam.

And encover, nexus has been blocking mention of LL and many competing sites for a while now.

It's not news.

I always understood that LL isn't fond of the nexus, but the censorship deal is news to me. It's just childish in my opinion. I mean, what's next? DarkOne runs into trouble with ModDB and censors that out too?

Wait what Curse is mainly WoW and only supports Skyrim... 176 Mods ooeh scary!

I though the nexus was retarded but not THIS retarded!

It does seem that Curse has a MUCH better way of filtering and such and has a lot of a less dumb design!

Curse.com also has skyrimforge.com. Don't know if Nexus has it filtered as well.

It's probably been set up as an auto filter I imagine, 176 Mods this early for a new game is probably enough to worry Nexus, if they don't grab all the Sykrim traffic, they'll be dead in the water in 3 years time if other sites become more popular, which is likely due to their customer attitudes.

While it wouldn't be a stretch to assume that some of it is personal dislike for Loverslab, the biggest reason Nexus blocks other sites is business. You can see it in the way they've handled rolling out their exclusive mod manager, and the utter shit-their-pants reaction they had to the announcement of the Skyrim Steam Workshop way back when. As Halstrom said, Nexus needs to grab all the Skyrim traffic it can, while it can. If anyone else gets a foothold, modders will start leaving due to the Nexus community's shamefully unappreciative attitude.
