domnl Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 Hi! For a very long time I've been a lurker of this forum, but today I'm going to break my silence. However, I've always been a mod user-- never a mod creator, but I kind of want to change that. Professionally, I'm a content artist; modeling, textures, animation, programming, etc.... and a very big fan of what people have done with Sexlab and Devious Devices, etc. I've even made a living creating adult content and animation in other 3D worlds... and I think I want to bring some of my skills here, for everyone to enjoy as a side hobby. However, as far as Skyrim modding goes; I am a complete and total newbie, so maybe I'll totally fail at this, who knows? But HI! - Lilly
downjonsie Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 Welcome to the strenuous world of adult modding for Skyrim! You may not be able to animate, unless you can get your hands on 2010-2012 3ds max and 2010-2011 Havok content tools. There's also blender, but it's a pain to set up, let alone find an animator who can help you.

I'm just going to have to partner with someone who can take my content and convert to a Skyrim compatible format?

Hæretic Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 Depending on the kind of content and the quality, I can help you get your stuff into skyrim yourself or I do parts of it for you and Integrate it in HR and/or DD. At the moment I am the only active modder on the DDdev team that does some modeling and I am not that good at it. If the assets you want to make go into the devious direction I am sure the others on the team might be interested as well.

This is a render of a WIP object I'm doing for another world; took me less than a hour to create and paint. Primarily, I work in MODO / Silo 2... they are my absolute "go to" applications for 3D modeling. We should definitely have a chat, is there anything you'd like to see in the way of furniture/devices?
Hæretic Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 Yes, there is definitely a bunch of stuff on my todo list that I either can't do because of missing time and/or skills ^^ It looks like you have much better 3d editing skills than me so only thing missing is the whole skyrim import stuff. I am gonna PM you and we can discuss what you like to do.

MadMansGun Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 here are some other programs you may want/need for modding: NifSkope https://github.com/jonwd7/nifskope/releases/tag/v2.0.dev2 TES5Edit http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25859/? BSA Browser http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/59553/?

BSA Browser http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/59553/? Awesome, thanks! I'm already diving head first into NifSkope. I love getting in over my head even before I know the very basics of something! Should be a fun time!

Should be a fun time! there are some user guides available for NifSkope, i made one but it may not be suitable to your needs: http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/2418-howto-dick-with-nifskope/ TES5Edit is used for editing/creating esp & esm mod files, it can be hard or easy to use depending on what you try to do with it...but it's a hell of a lot easier to use then the CreationKit for most things. BSA Browser is just used for extracting files (Eg: meshes & textures) from BSA archives.
Lodakai Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 If you enjoy it.. you will not fail. You could spend one year.. with only a sphere to show for it that you export as a rock into skyrim.. someone will end up using it in something. And really.. if you had fun doing it. who cares. Look forward to seeing your rock spheres. ETA: Do not be afraid to ask for advice. As a lurker, you probably already know that the people here are resourceful and eager to offer help... and only occasionally snarky.

And I'm aimin' to have a lot of fun, I need a new playground.
