Transparent Armor Issue

Hello,

I am trying to make one armor (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49350/?) transparent, but it doesn't seem to work no matter what I do.

I have looked at many pages and solutions here and other places but the problem still exists. Something must be missing, and I'm not sure what....

I have added an alpha channel (black, different shades of grey, etc) to the texture and saved it as dxt5 (both mipmaps, and no mipmaps)

I made sure that the nif pointed to the right texture (it shows up in nifskope with the right colour and transparency)

I checked the nif file and added the NiAlphaProperty to the NiTriShape of the corset

I have tried alpha flags 4845, 4844, 4333, 237. All of those have been combined with thresholds of 0, 10, 100, and 128

In nifskope, the texture of the corset and panty is transparent, but in game only the panty is transparent. The corset is the right colour, but is opaque and bright. Both trishapes have the same alpha settings and use the same texture. I am using an ENB, but I haven't found anything that would suggest a conflict there.

Does anyone have any further insights?

Why not just download their latex corset color changer and change it to what you want? Many of the files from looking at them in paint-net are already transparent. Install it so that the textures get added. The black2.dds have a different color for each one. All you have to do is change the UV map and add the NiAlphaProprty if you want the top to be transparent.

For the corset the UV map parts are off to the sides. Load up the nif and then right click the corset and go to texture - edit UV both parts of the corset UV map are off to the side. Mouse over the top part and when a hand appears click the right click and select - select connected this will highlight the whole UV map now slide it over to where the black area is the bottom part is made of more then one piece so hold down the mouse button to highlight part of it then repeat the above. Move it over and then right click it again and go to rotate selected. Put in 90.00 and it enter now it will fit into the black area. The little flowers need to be dragged over to the green area. When the UV map is moved the top it should look like this.

How the UV map should look. Once the UV map is changed for the top mesh you will not have to do it for each color. Make sure to repeat this for the other nif. What you do to the _0 nif has to be done to the _1 nif as well.

Do you want to make the whole thing transparent or just certain areas? If you want to make whole parts (or blocks in nifskope) transparent, simply editing the alpha variable is enough. Works 99%, 2/3 of all times.

If it's just certain areas, pm me the edited tex and I'll see what I can do.
