SuccubusAlexa Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 i fucked up or something i dont want mod orginizer to handle my nexus mods how do i undo this im not very smart it does not let me use nexusmodmanager anymore
Executaball Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 Can you provide more information? Mod Organizer shouldn't be able to handle your nexus mods at all. It will show up as "Unmanaged" in MO. What does your MO say?
KandiKain Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 I'd uninstall MO, and then dig around in NMM to reassociate the download links to the applications. Maybe, you didn't know what you were searching for and didn't have the right terms, but this was the first link in google and should do what you want. http://www.gameskinny.com/ovwqn/how-to-reassociate-nxm-files-with-nexus-mod-manager I would highly encourage you to give MO another chance. The learning curve is steep, and it is ugly as sin, but the ability to create new profiles for mod testing, and separating out your save games to those profiles, while leaving your Skyrim directory clean is invaluable. In the long run, if you break your install and you're using MO right, you can just roll it back to a working profile with a few clicks. That's a killer feature for going beyond a handful of installed mods while retaining stability. To each their own, but a quick google search for mod organizer tutorial, or mod organizer (whatever your issue is) will probably get you where you need to be. Good luck.

The Gauntman Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 You must be very careful with MO it is not easy to use. Read up on it and go back to NMM for now.

Definately, before you proceed I would also highly recommend Mod Organizer. I also started with NMM because of its simplicity. However if you want a stable game and much faster troubleshooting down the road, it is worth it to start with MO now. But onto your problem: I think the MO's nxmhandler is handling your links. - Go into your MO installation directory and find "nxmhandler.exe". It should be in the same folder as "ModOrganizer.exe" - Open it You should see this: Make sure your NMM executable is at the top of the list (so it will use that instead of Mod Organizer.) If it doesn't exist (like the picture), double click to edit the directory to point to your NMM executable. Hope that helped.

SepticSpoon Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 Try going into NMM settings and check "Associate with NXM URLs" then restart NMM. Or uncheck it and re-check it and restart NMM.But I too advise you use MO. It's much better. That's just my opinion though.
KandiKain Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 It's the first hit in google sweetheart. Let me teach you how to fish, instead of giving you fish. Copy and paste that error into your search box, hit enter, and give those solutions a whirl. If they don't work, come back, tell people what you tried, and then ask your question again. You'll probably get a lot more helpful replies. I'm not trying to be hard on you, but searching first is good Internet etiquette pretty much wherever you go.

khumak Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 If I remember right, NMM gets confused if you use another mod manager for a game that you're also using NMM for and there's some config file for NMM that you have to go find and delete or reset to it's default state to fix it. I used to have that problem in Fallout anytime I would accidently load up Fallout with NMM instead of FOMM. I use MO for both now so I can't remember which setting it was but NMM would flat out crash until I found and deleted and/or fixed that file.
