[HELP] Looking for Blender Export Assistance/Explanations

Hey LL, this is my first time reaching out for modding on my own.

I see a lot of cool mods that have been edited or made by the amazing community here, and I decided I'd like to attempt what you all do so well. My problem? I'm a complete noob.

I recently got Blender, and am working on the nif import/export feature of the program. Currently, I'm working with Nisetanaka's Dragonbone Bikini armor.

What I'm trying to accomplish is something that looks like this when I finish editing meshes:

(this is a dragonbone armor altered by someone out there...whoever did this, I'm greatly inspired)

This is as far as I've gotten into Blender:

It's Bikini Top A from Nisetanaka's Bikini mod. I'm trying to split it in half (so I only get the left side of the breast covered) and export for use in Skyrim. As you can see, I've successfully removed half of the top, just like I was trying to do. My issue now is that I have all these errors and failure to export.

Once I learn how this works, I'd like to apply a similar concept to boots/gloves/greaves/gauntlets and other Bikini Tops or Chest pieces out there for personal use/mashups.

Can anyone possibly help/guide me or lead me to a tutorial that could cover this issue? I've gotten a lot of errors, and after researching, I can't seem to find any helpful explanations.

Thanks in advance!

You don't actually need blender to so what is done in the above photo. All you need is outfit studio. Load the nif into outfit studio and click edit then click mirror to turn off mirror so what you do is only done to one side.

Next click the mask tab and paint the areas you want masked. Click brush settings and adjust the circle size when needing to get close to something without affecting it.

Once all part are masked half way click each one and then go to slider - new zap slider and go to each piece this way till you have done them all.

Next file - save project as - name it and save.

Bring up the bodyslide screen and go to outfit/body click it and look for what you saved the file as. Click preview so that you can see how it looks and tick each box and watch one half of the outfit disappear. Once all are ticked click build and then go get your new file from the folder that it got saved to.

I'm very familiar with bodyslide/outfit studio, but I don't use it for my current Skyrim setup. Glad to hear this can be done without Blender.

My only issue with using bodyslide right now is having to alter my Ningheim body preset (the one straight from the mod - and not one I built in bodyslide). Will this still work on outfits without using bodyslide, and altering them only in outfit stuido? Or is bodyslide still required to build the armor in game?

Thanks for your help so far, seems to make a lot of sense, and easy to figure out. I'm just curious if I'll have to begin using UUNP with my current Ningheim

I don't have bodyslide installed I have it unzipped in my skyrim folder I just use the outfit studio part for most of what I do and when I need to use the bodyslide part it's usually to build the different armor parts that I had to zap to separate them.

I had to zap every peice for this outfit so that they will all become one piece there will be about 15 pieces are I'm done.

Before and after ticking a box.

That sounds perfect! And thanks for showing me that example, I'm trying it out right now. Hopefully all goes well!

Do I do this method for both the outfit_0 and outfit_1 meshes?

If you are going to do both then you would only be able to do it to one nif and then remake the other nif however way they do it. Because what you do to one nif has to be exactly the same in the 2nd nif or it will not show up in game. I only ever do 1 nif so I have never had to mess with that. But the _0 and _1 are only needed for slider capabilities.

Your welcome glad it worked.

I finished the one that I posted those screenshots on for zapping and ended up zapping the long gloves down to a smaller size and all parts are back into the nif and textured and it looks alright to me.

I'm a newbee in outfit studio.

Scenario:

Let's say I want to edit a bikini. Maybe I want to pull down the panty a little or to the side. Then drag the bikini cups up/down. Goal is to expose certain parts of the body (my next dream would be to have a mod that works with sexlab that swaps to exposed outfits during sex)

In outfit studio I've so far been using either

1)"move" whole outfit mesh and then paint brush to get it as nice as I can.

Or

2) I've used that function next to it (cant remember the name now) to re orientate/drag the armor mesh to desired position.

No 1 can be kind of succesfull. But it depends on the armor. No 2 is a pain in the ass. The meshes are not smooth/straight anymore and have pointy edges. I realize I use outfit studio in a different way that it was meant for.

But is there a different way to expose my excisting outfits/armors? Preferably in outfit studio. I've been having a wet dream about starting with blender 2.74 but.... afraid...so afraid... :(

Edit: I realized I highjacked a thread. Very sorry bout that.
