Guest Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Hi there. I'm trying to make a replacer for Celes's Nightingale armor. So I renamed the Nif's that came with the mod and put them into the Nightingale armor folder. So far so good. But the outfit is missing the panties! With a quick check it turns out that the panties are included in another Nif file. So I went into Outfit Studio, took the main armor Nif and then copied in the panties Nif file. In outfit studio everything looks fine and the textures are working properly. So I exported the Nif file into the vanilla Nightingale folder. However in game my character is still going commando. Can anyone offer some insight into this? Obviously it's not as simple as I thought. Thanks.
meme supreme Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 I dunno man I think it's a good look! What version of BodySlide are you running? My first thought was that there might be a partition mismatch on the .nif you added but I can't see the partitions tab where it'd normally be, on the top right menu next to Meshes.
yatol Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 that's an armor, so it probably have sbp 32, because armor addon x have sbp 32 armor addon stocking have another sbp, sbp y, so it's sbp y in the nif you are supposed to either add sbp y to armor addon x, either replace sbp y by sbp 32
myuhinny Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Does the panties use any of the same slots that the outfit does? If the panties slot isn't picked in the .esp's armor and armor addon it'll cause it to be invisible. Does the slot for the panties match the slots in the .ep's? Same thing if all slots do not match it'll cause the item to be invisible. So if the panties has slot 32_body then it also needs to be ticked for the armor and armor addon for the outfit.
Guest Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 My bodyslide version is 3.72. I literally just opened up outfit studio, grabbed the nif from teh folder and then just dragged and dropped it into the Outfit Studio window then exported the nif. The armor isn't using an .esp as I've just copied and replaced nif files from Celes's Nightingale armor mod into the standard Nightingale armor folder to create a replacer. Thanks for the advice Yatol but I'm a complete noob with this stuff so I'm not sure how to do any of that really. Although a lot of this stuff seems pretty complicated. Honestly if I have to walk around commando I guess that's just what Nocturnal demands for her blessings.

Then it's simple from there, a partitions tab will be added next to the Meshes one and you just match the new panty .nif to the existing partitions of the armor set, usually slot 32, and it'll show up fine. The partitions are a system that decides what that clothing .nif occupies relative to the body, kinda like Morrowind where you could put on a bunch of shit and it all occupied different slots depending on what it actually was. Base Skyrim only really cares about 4 slots-- the body, the gauntlets, the boots, and the helm, but modders have started to use more than just those 4. The panty .nif you might've imported probably uses a slot that does not match the existing partitions of the vanilla Nightingale armor. Once you match it, it'll show up.
