Guest Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 My game is VERY STABLE right now. I've been playing for hours without a CTD or FREEZE. Here's what I did: 1. Rebooted my PC. 2. Added "memory fix" ini to Data/SKSE. <https://steamcommuni...0500921363665/> 3. Uninstalled PCEA2, Idle Anims mod, and a More Travellers mod with dirty scripts. <http://www.nexusmods...m/mods/71055/?> 4. Reinstalled everything animation related and reinstalled XPMSE, overwriting everything!! 5. Another Tex Optimizer on texture folder and a couple companion plugins. 6. Moved a couple plugins around in my load order, especially XPMSE.esp (moved to the bottom with my patches). It feels good gents. Feels really good. Not even heavy combat crashes my game, most of the time. Some of the animations I'm using together: Pretty combat Pretty sit Sexlab (lololol) The PCEA2 MCM menu is hanging around for some reason. It's not causing any bugs though. I really think that mod was a big problem. - - - - -- - - - - - - - -- --- - -- -- -- - --- - - - - - --- -- -- Hello boyos, welcome to another weird crash-fixing jamboree. I'm your host, Iggy. Today I'm trying to figure out what the hell is going on with my game, which should be stable, crashing constantly in certain areas. (Hopefully by solving this problem, I can help others having similar issues. I have looked up my Papyrus error and related threads turned up no certain answers, many of them conflicting as well. I will also pass along a helping hand in the community if we can figure this out.) ITT: Papyrus text Master List tried methods The game was pretty damn stable for a while, crashing maybe once every hour or so. Now if I'm in Whiterun or similar places, I get a FREEZE or a CTD constantly. I think the culprit is ""XPMSEWeaponStyleScaleEffect.psc" Line ?" , an error that is spammed a lot over the course of a SECOND in Papyrus. What have I tried? Well fellas. This time around I wanted to do modding right. I used LOOT to organize and troubleshoot cleaning. I used tes5edit to clean masters and a couple mods. I hand-organized mods that were thrown about by LOOT, keeping categories close together. Merged similar mods to de-clutter my load: armors, weather mods, hair mods, and NPC appearance mods. Upon having the CTD problem flare up: I reinstalled XPMSE mods and had XPMSE copy over everything EXCEPT the Pretty Combat animations--those should stay the same. I used Texture Optimizer to compress all my textures. Is it likely that XPMSE is the culprit? What should I do, you think?
par6six6 Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 Well, iggy, you seem like an intelligent sort of lizard, allow me to try to help. You've done everything right so far, using LOOT, cleaning mods, but here's the thing. A papyrus log is not a crash log. You're barking (well, I guess reptiles don't bark, climbing?) up the wrong tree. The last things written to the log is just what it was doing when the crash occurred, and not why it crashed. Those debug messages for XPMSE are normal. Spammy and unnecessary yes, but harmless. So I wouldn't say XPMSE is the issue. The first suggestion I have is to get Crash Fixes - It should be able to provide you with more information when you crash and/or help prevent them.If that's not getting you anywhere, you might have to go old school troubleshooting. Start with starting a new game with no mods and see if you still crash like before. Add mods a few at a time and test between each. Its a horribly tedious process but can help narrow down a culprit. My thoughts would lean toward any of your merged mods (possible conflicts in there) or this - vAutosaveManager.esp (what even is this and why).Last bit of advice, get Wrye Bash and make a bashed patch.

My thoughts would lean toward any of your merged mods (possible conflicts in there) or this - vAutosaveManager.esp (what even is this and why). Last bit of advice, get Wrye Bash and make a bashed patch. You know... I was thinking it might be a memory problem of sorts instead. Crashes don't occur when animations are starting or anything, and there's a lot of compatibility between animation mods now. The autosave manager is there to make a series of saves, which I like partly because I forget to save and then a crash happens in the middle of a dungeon. The crashes did start occurring around the time I was making merged plugins and when I installed Climates of Tamriel and Pretty Idles. I don't even like the idles, because they cause moments of immersion-screwing T poses, so I'm uninstalling that and PCEA2--player exclusive animations have given me trouble in the past, so I'm gonna test disabling this. I did do a memory test with a new save and it was fine. There's these STUTTERS that happen every now and again, caused possibly by a mod, so I'll keep testing that. Thank you for clarifying the role of Papyrus dump and the crash fix article, I will keep investigating. The idea of having a stable, working game seems cool to me, which is partly why I'm going through the trouble. So yeah thanks for the help guy, I'll keep you informed here.
