Break Undies armors.

This Guide is ONLY for BU_Framework version 2.0!!!!!
1. For armors that do not have BU scripting inside the esp (you will know if this is the case if you find a BreakUndies.ini file inside or if the mod maker includes a form id in the readme or if you put the armor on and it won't break):
A. If esp file is included (if not see NO ESP method below) then open up the esp using the CS and find the form id. You will need the last 6 digits of it (it will be numbers and maybe even some letters since it is in hexadecimal format). See picture below as this column is generally partially hidden:

As the arrow shows pull the column open to aid you in seeing what the form ID is.

B. You can now close the CS and go find your BreakUndies.ini file. It will be located at oblivion\data\ini\BreakUndies.ini
Open the file with notepad and you will need to start a new entry.
There already is a sample entry included from the installation of BU_Framework version 2.0 so you need to follow its format. The first line you will enter will be the armor name that you looked up the form id for in the CS in A. You need to list the path for the file along with its EXACT NAME starting from the meshes folder (but NOT including it!) and listing every folder until you arrive at the actual .nif file. You will repeat this step for each additional .nif file that is included with this armor. If the armor has 3 .nif files then you will have 3 entries. If it has 7 .nif files then you will have seven entries. What this is doing is telling the game what .nif file to display so it updates correctly as the armor takes more and more damage. For our example this armor has 4 parts so it will have 4 entries (example thanks to user Touge):

As you can see the green are the folders with the path leading to the actual .nif file (in this case Lowbody1.nif being the first armor that the form ID is based on) and then lists the other three .nif files that are to be used by this armor as it breaks. In this case with there being 4 armor parts then you will have a 25% break between stages. In other words stages one of the break (when the armor will update to the second listed .nif file) will occur when the armor has taken about 75% damage. If there are more stages or less then this number moves about accordingly. The red is the name of the esp file that contains the base armor that is listed in line one (Lowbody1.nif) and that you looked up the form ID for. The yellow is the last 6 digits of the form ID you looked up earlier. NOTE: DO NOT include the first 2 digits and the reason why is that will change as the mod is moved up or down in your load order. The first two digits are always a function of load order. Since you have the mods esp name in the BU ini you don't need the load order info as it already knows where to look.
C. Save your modified BreakUndies.ini and exit notepad and you are ready to fire up oblivion and test out your new armor!

Alternate section - NO ESP
If the armor is just a collection of meshes (it may or may not include textures - if there are no textures then you need to find the original version of the mod and install the textures from it 1st prior to using these meshes), then you are going to have to make or modify an esp to get your armor "in game". To do this you will need to manually add the 1st armor stage (the 100% undamaged version - generally the 1st file) to an esp you already have or a new one you will make. Note the form ID that it generates for you and remember to save your changes. Now you can go back up and follow the steps above.

As someone who watches list threads very closely, is it possible for OP to date their updates? I know it's nicely organized and broken up into BBB/nonBBB already-- but at least a changelog in a spoiler if possible? Maybe bold the newest entries, etc.

Does anyone know if anyone has made BU replacers for vanilla oblivion armors?

BU replacers are a bad idea. I did the daedric and blades armor and when I tried to actually replace the armor of the blades with my version Oblivion didn't like it that much. The biggest problem (apart from the fact that you would had to start a new game after installing the replacer) is that the male armor will have the same script on it, resulting in invisible meshes if the armor gets damaged. Maybe there is a way to do that, but atleast I don't know how to do that.

Is the last one really supported by BU? I think that armors from DMRA Wardrobe just got breaked into separate parts and won't disappear like any BU armors. Can anyone confirm this?

Can't seem to get BU dungeon to work, I have BU dungeon and the latest BU framework, but all of the women in the dungeon are transparent, just floating heads.

It's because you haven't manually created bu-armor and added it to BUEquipment. This project was a modders resource. So if you don't how to work with tes you have to wait till someone releases the fully completed plug-in.

I'm actually very familiar with the editor, can I just put BU armors that other people have made into it?

I saw it came with a bunch of screenshots of the editor, I guess I'll check those out.

I had this problem originally as well so I used the CS to simply add the armor in game to a location. Unfortunately my harddrive died and I don't have the altered esp anymore... It's pretty easy to do if you're even loosely familiar with the CS, though.

Even easier (sort of) would be to figure out the item codes and just additem them.. The mod, however, seems to have some sort of questline with arena combat and trivia, and it'd be interesting to see how it works.

Mind you, the trivia is hard, I worked on it with CS, when translated some of it makes little sense and a few of the answers you have to type in are misspelled.

Edit: It'd be nice to see a pic of the armor, though, before going through the trouble of re-working it into the game..

Where in the world is the Mai outfit located?

I installed the mod and checked all the usual locations - arena, market, front of anvil... can't find it anywhere.

Also can't find the author and for some reason the file isn't hosted on tesnexus so there's no way to look it up.

That means it's a BBB armor. Get a skeleton that supports it such as Coronerras Maximum Compatibility Skeleton.

It might be a BBB armor, but I've had the compatibility skeleton installed since day 1. Redownloaded and re-installed just to be sure =( No good.

I've had this problem with other armors in the past too, just never figured out how to fix it =(

Seems like any BU armor I install does this actually. I've only ever tried 3 because I can never get them to work, but none of them work properly =(

Someone please fix my oblivion I want this clothes =(
