Trykz Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 Well, after a lot of reflection and contemplation, I've decided to part ways with Fallout 4. Including modding it. This isn't likely a permanent thing. I just want to give the game some time to mature a bit, as I'm really beginning to lose interest in both playing it AND modding it. I figure it best to just step back for a while and see where things go, before I lose interest in it entirely. Bethesda isn't finished updating it, and it seems that a lot of necessary F4SE functionality is significantly far off with the advent of SKSE64. But for all intents and purposes, FO4 modding is simply too early in it's infancy for some of the stuff I want to do. So for now, I'll be returning to playing and modding Skyrim. My Skyrim mods could use some updating and touch-up, and I have a number of projects I shelved when I got distracted with FO4 that I'd like to get back to. FO4 has a LOT of potential where modding is concerned. But far too much is missing from the game for me to continue playing or modding it. And as stated earlier, I really don't want to lose complete interest in it. So I'm just stepping back and observing where it goes and what it becomes before I continue..... Trykz
Swiftstep Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 Thanks for all your effort so far. Speaking of "returning to Skyrim", would you mind to alter this nice work of yours? The hard-wired textures into it are okay, but it would be nicer if one could use a set per choice.

Just create the textures directory tree (Data\textures\actors\character\wildling\female) and drop in the texture set you want to use. Those will now display as an override to those packed in the BSA. panthercom Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 I don't blame you one bit. I poke at Fallout 4 about once a month to see if it's matured enough for further consumption. The kind of work that needs to be done is far beyond my set of skills, so about all I can do is improve the appearance now. I just dumped ENB and installed ReShade last night, and damn, it looks really good
Snazzishoez Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 I hear you about FO4. The mod scene started very quickly and got a lot of excitement going quickly. People got eager for what was to come and after some time now, there still is only so much you can do. The stuff a lot of people want to do, like animations and quest mods, etc., are on hold. I find myself very interested in FO4 and then sometimes, not so much. I think you and others are feeling the same way. They rather see how things go before jumping in head first. Hopefully things will progress, even if slowly, to grab everyone's attention again. Enjoy your break away and good luck with Skyrim stuffs.

An hour here and there is about as much as I can stand lately. Either playing or modding. The game has an enormous amount of potential, but I suspect it will be quite some time before that potential is realized. I believe that too much of something with too little eventually alters your overall perception of it, thus leading to overall dislike. So I'm just shelving it before I get to that point..... I'd rather wait it out. Trykz
panthercom Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 We've all gotten spoiled from heavily modded Skyrim, which is light years passed from where it started from
