Odd Mesh Glitch using Outfit Studio for a simple edit

As the title states, I've come across an odd issue recently making basic edits to outfits and saving them.  Here's what it looks like:

How I am arriving at this error:

1). Opening Outfit Studio > Load Outfit > Chose the _1.nif version of the outfit I am editing. (In this case I'm just patching up R18pn's Lingerie Set)

2). I typically use the "increase mesh volume" brush to patch up some areas where the body is clipping through the outfit.

3). Once I am done I Export > Save NIF and save and replace the _1.nif version of the file (I create a backup first usually as I'm used to this issue happening now)

4). Load up a new game and test the output to see the mesh look like this jumbled mess.

Any idea what is going on here?  Do I need to be making a Nifskope edit of some sort?

I typically just lurk here but I'm pretty desperate for help.  Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

Which body version are you using? There could be a flaw in the body mesh. Older UNP bodies like dimonized UNP are flawed and will cause problems unless you replace the body with a new body. I have seen these problem using both mesh rigger and outfit studio. Adding bone nodes to the flawed body would shift the body in the nif forward - backwards - left  - right - up - or down. I have also seen them blow up and come out looking like someone sneezed into a napkin.

I think I may have figured it out.

There are .tri files associated with each outfit set since I used a Bodyslide conversion to create them.  (R18pn's Lingerie Set is typically for 7b and UNP but there someone did make a conversion set here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52325/) I use my own custom CBBE body that I converted to.

Since the .tri is associated with it when I just edit and save over the _1.nif the shape data doesn't match up, or so I understand it.

Instead I have to save my edits as a project to generate new shape files using Bodyslide.  So (for anyone else running into this issue, here is how I fixed it):

1) Open up the _1.nif in Outfit Studio

2) Make the edits. Again, I was only doing some minor tweaking here to patch up some inconsistencies in the mesh with my new body.

3). Save Project As >

a). Set the Display Name to something you recognize (This is what you'll see in BodySlide when you batch convert)

b ). Create the same output name that the outfit was using before

c). Make sure the Output Data path is correct to where the outfit mesh is supposed to live.

        d). Low/High Weight Output

4). Once done there go to Bodyslide and filter for Unassigned

5). Batch Build... and you should see the Display Name that you set in 3a.  Build.

So it looks like I was just going about the process wrong, and it's not a bug.
