ManlyDorf Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a Chinese fantasy overhaul mod for SE? Being able to handle more hauls, I think this sort of thing would be lovely, maybe tweak it to be an Akaviri mod? Maybe an idea for those who like to do some projects out there. (Note that the Changloong City mod has been dead for years now, didn't finished it's pre-alpha stage.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D42BbF6C2RE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTmU4iocltA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-i2xAOC5fn4
icanglqueen Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 It looks really awesome! I know some players would certainly use such an overhaul.
27X Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 There zero humans in or on Akavir and haven't been for all the years ever recorded.
LeFlemard Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 There zero humans in or on Akavir and haven't been for all the years ever recorded. Explain Akaviri Commander Mishaxhi ghost then. Also: It is unknown what happened to the humans of Akavir. One source says they were "eaten" by the Tsaesci. However, there is very little explanation on the meaning of "eat" in that context, and there are conflicting accounts of the Akaviri; the depiction of the Tsaesci in multiple sources indicates that they are literally serpentine.[1][6] But other sources, such as the Akaviri Diary Translation, imply that there were humanoid people with the Tsaesci, this may mean that the humans of Akavir are still alive.
Luna_Natsume Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 I would ABSOLUTELY be interesting in an Asiatic overhaul of skyrim! All the armor, and buildings, and flora/fauna... HOMAGAWD it would be hella beast yo!

Sad that no previous game explored the Akavir continent or we would have more knowledge on its landscape, flora and fauna...

Yes, and no. But on the bright side, a writer can come up with some form of excuse to make this an acceptable lore-friendly storyline, possibly a hidden continent that hasn't been explored and whatnot. Though, I am interested to see an author's interpretation on the Akavir. Maybe because I want some asian theme for once in the TES series.

Other sources contravene this, including Bethsda's own products, secondly there is zero relevance to asian architecture or thematics on Akavir other than weaponry. Thirdly, Bethesda's latest iteration of Tsaesci are 100% serpentine and have a penchant for eating people. Fourthly Kirkbride's work is overarching decline of humanity against the tides of Mer and Akavir thereof is a thematic example, where humans have been gone for a fuck off long time via being extinct. Fifthly the ADT describes the Tsang-Mo.

I would guess than the MAJORITY of mods here, and on the Nexus, aren't lore friendly. That doesn't mean that they aren't wonderful to play! I think an Chinese/Japanese/Korean fusion overhaul would be an AMAZING experience in Skyrim! Change the clothes, armor, weapons, racial presets, weather, landscape... like it would be SO sic! Something like Blade and Soul, only WAY better, cuz it's in Skyrim!

A thing is design a world with his own lore such Enderal... Enderal is not part of TES universe is a world with his own lore... Another is come up with something completely clashing world lores..
Pankzta Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 I would love it ... When I played the story for the first time I wished that there was more Akaviri stuff ingame... but it made me sad that everything from them were destroyed or abandoned
herdustisverypretty Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 I would definitely be interested!

You can make whatever you want. Instead of trying to justify it as lore friendly just straight up "I want weeaboo shit in skyrim", and voila done, theoretical completely imaginary problem solved. You'll notice the chinese, japanese, and korean modding communities don't ever even mention akavir, because it's irrelevant. Fanfiction vs lore has jack shit to do with content creation.

The Akaviri, natives of the continent Akavir (which lies across a major ocean from Tamriel) is an empire comprised of people most resembling the Chinese and Japanese of our own world. This is evident from the armor worn and katanas wielded by the Blades, which were originally a faction of the invading Akaviri army of ancient times. from http://skyrim.gamepedia.com/Akaviri
