How to "port" mods from 32 to 64bit+tools+fix for shitty audio

I try to explain you how to port mods over to sse...

also a collection for tools

 

 

MESHES

 

NifSkope2

NifPlugin for 3ds Max

BS/OS

SSE NIF Optimizer New! Thanks to ousnius<3 

 

1.) convert all NiTriStrips to NiTriShape in nifskope (spells -> batch -> triangulate all)
2.) make all NiSkinPartitions without strips (spells -> batch -> make all skin partitions, change 18 to 60)
3.) add  tangents to all meshes that don't have them (except for body/head meshes)
with spells -> batch -> add tangents and update

.dds Plugin for Photoshop

Intel Texture Works Plugin for Photoshop

Texture optimizer

 

1.)open .dds in Photoshop and resave as .dds dxt 5 or rgb8

2) if you want use texture optimizer

- Unzip "convert_HKX.zip" to the same folder as the tool (HavokBehaviorPostProcess.exe) as mentioned above.

- Drop any hkx files you want to convert into the HavokBehaviorPostProcess folder.  For example, all your female idles.

- Double-click "convert_HKX.bat"

I like to some of my body character textures uncompressed rgb8 /a to avoid artifacting

i corrected, im not professional about photoshop bro, thats the way i did :D

Well its just an optional, I usually dxt landscape textures and keep uncompressed textures for my character for best quality. Eats quite a lot of vram though

Ok, wait. If converting is so easy then why so many mods are still not converted do SE?(excluding scripted ones)

 

i dont know, maybe becuase people are retarded...

if mod author is away from modding, port the mod yourself

 

its a nice oppurtunity to get rid of shit you dont need anymore

 

many mods contain skse plugins now or use swf for mcm, look frostfall you now need to do all with spells, this take some time

i have copy 17 go of texture from my old skyrim without converting and is work perfect

I tried to load the mod without converting and also doesn't work, when the game loads an object from the mod, it crashes, if I delete the textures of the mod, the game can load the objects perfectly (purple of course), so its clear that textures are the problem, I tried converting them in photoshop but when I load or save them in dds, there are a lot of options (like flip vertically, generate MIP maps, etc) I don't know how to set them...

Get nvidia dxt plugin

Open texture

Click save as and choose dxt

Nvidia plugin window will pop up, choose dxt5 interpolated alpha and press save overwrite

Profit?

 

You can use texture optimizer then for reburn mipmaps and rescale shit

 

Or you just use them as they are..

So i want to port this mod to SKSPE

 

This is the issue i get:

For real bro, i would wait for the new cbbe/uunp body release before you mess up you game with old shit only because you cant explore skyrim without tiddeys xD there are a few ways to make old head nifs work but i think a tool will be released soon enough..

Thanks, that worked, but now the textures look a lot darker and less shiny ingame than in the original skyrim, it only happened to me with weapon and armor mods from the same author, any idea why this happens and how to fix it?

i dont know much about textures and how to edit them but i would bet you set something wrong..just check some tutorials about skyrim textures..

Texture optimizer I wouldn't recommend I tried it and it will cause the CTD.

The texture format for skyrim SE is different from what I have noticed.

 

Try editing the meshes in NIFScope then see what happens.

I have 2 setups..4k on Desktop and 2k in notebook and i always use optimizer to downscale and it doesnt cause ctd wtf

if anybody can help me i realy appreciate it .

 

I'm no expert at HDT but you need to remove the dependencies on it. If I understand correctly you get Bodyslide files with the mod. Using those you should be able to create meshes that do not require HDT.

 

I found one thread describing how to proceed:

You will need the old bodyslide installation and probably an old skyrim too.
