NazWeed Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 Awhile ago I swapped my old AMD card for a GTX 760. Now all the 3D Fallout games crash when loading a save. This is really strange.
zippy57 Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 The current nVidia drivers are broken for FNV/FO3. You have to roll back to something in the 36x range to run them, I think.
prinyo Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 There are two ways to fix this at the moment. Rollback the driver to version 368.81 Or http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/34778/ Check the mod and the comment section.
NazWeed Posted October 24, 2016 Author Posted October 24, 2016 Damn shame this is, I can't play with mods?
Slammer64 Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 With the newest drivers you can't play any Bethesda game under Windows 10, however I'm currently running Win 7 with the newest drivers just fine. It's a Windows 10 problem and we have to wait till Microsoft gets off their dead asses and issues a patch.
prinyo Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 I haven't tried the solution from the mod myself as I can't have the dll in the game directory (because Tridef and vorpx). But I see no reason why mods should not work. The only thing I can think about is that if you want to use ENB you will need the injector and not the wrapper version. But I might me missing something.
LukeDuke Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 ''NVAC'' fixes it for all older Bethesda's games (including Oblivion!), and you can still use ENB/SFX/ReShade or whatever, and no, I don't think M$ will ever fix it, but Bethesda should update their old games to support latest OS anyway..
prinyo Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 Trying the NVAC fix now. Also, unrelated to the FONV problem, here is a link to the last usable Nvidia experience before they decided to turn it into a spyware : http://us.download.nvidia.com/GFE/GFEClient/2.11.4.0/GeForce_Experience_v2.11.4.0.exe Link via Reddit. And as suggested there the setup.exe in C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\GeForce Experience\Update needs to be renamed to something else in order to prevent the mandatory update.
LukeDuke Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 Thanks, but I never use any app to config my games for me, as it's messing with my custom settings too much, but maybe others will find it useful.
prinyo Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 Wow, the new NVAC did actually work and without all the complications of having that dll in the game directory. Thanks! Just a note - you need to download the beta from the optional files and install it by hand - putting the dll of the mod in the plugins dir.
7KeysCurtain Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 While others have had luck with that beta copy of NVAC fixing it - for me it just introduces other problems like bald NPCs, looks like I'll be on 368.81 for who knows how long.
