netruss1964 Posted September 3, 2016 Author Posted September 3, 2016 Oh and I keep forgetting to post this for you. The loadorder is the MO right pane list. the modlist is the MO left pane list. Never considered a re-bash after the conflict resolution with TES5Edit. Sweet. And Thank you.
netruss1964 Posted September 6, 2016 Author Posted September 6, 2016 Oh and I keep forgetting to post this for you... The game loads. Looks great so far. I am still fine tuning but everything seems fine at the Inn. (whew!).
netruss1964 Posted September 6, 2016 Author Posted September 6, 2016 YAY! Glad to hear it. Okay, finished the last installment from Mod of the month club. Did all the chores with the Files and animations. Got in game. Unfortunately I had not checked the archery functions for the last 8 mod installations but I have an Idea where to start looking. I am thinking it is Body types of Skyrim but I will have to check, also added was 360 walk run plus so... ( so far all the NPC textures are still uniform. I will see what happens as things progress, still too early to tell.). Let me play with it a bit longer before you start fussing me for being a newb. The visuals are much improved and it looks like everything is showing in the MCM. Animations (except archery so far...) are playing, Looks better than last round...
ButchDiavolo Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Uncheck the last 8 mods you installed and go back to the save when the archery was still working. Then start adding the new mods again one by one and check the archery. When it stops working, then you will have found the culprit and can take it out back to shoot it like Ol' Yeller

I am going to go down the list and reinstall all mods one at a time returning the file contents to their original form. I will have to watch out for the "specific instructions" on the STEP page. I have made some issues in the mods while changing things with TES5Edit (created dependencies then changed the order. DOH!). I keep having an idle animation conflict occur in Dawnguard, idledrinkfountain, activatebloodportal and some entry involving Miirak. Regardless, WryeBash is showing some red check marks (masters in incorrect order?), yeah I am pretty sure I need to reinstall to re-path the files correctly. Also after studying the two files you shared with me I guess from all the + signs next to entries in the mod list that you have combined your entire list some how? Did I see that right? Bashed the whole together? And is that in reverse order? I am soooo confused... I am really excited by the visuals, the improved game play and better load times that I have experienced just from the changes made in my process thus far. Updates and comments/questions to be expected soon...Thanks again!
ButchDiavolo Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 The + signs on my modlist just means that those mods are active. If they aren't active there won't be a plus. So no, I didn't manage to bash all my mods together LOL The modslist is always in reverse order (don't ask me why). The load order is in the correct order. What is it exactly that you are attempting to do with TES5Edit? It is generally not a good idea to mess around with mods in TES5Edit. And as for Wrye bash: red boxes mean that files are not installed as they were configured. Orange ticks mean that the dependencies are not sorted correctly.

So the conflicts that show up in TES5Edit after filtering for conflicts do not need to be resolved? Why run it then? I am an older male with a job. I have not invested the time or attention to modding Skyrim that is required to be successful so I have read and made these attempts in my little chunks of down time. Trying to mod on the fly with just my internet reading as my only real experience has left these giant gaps in my knowledge. I am winging it. I will be able to poke at it for 3 days to a week between work projects, then it may be a month till I can look at it again. Needless to say my retention of the details is not as good as it could be so I am left to bothering unwary rescuers in the community. Sorry, Thanks.
ButchDiavolo Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 You are using a variety of mods and some will overwrite items from others, so you will always have conflicts. But you can also see the conflicts in MO (the + and - in the left pane). If you want to resolve conflicts, you are better of changing things in MO. i.e. there is a texture you definately want to use, but it is being overwritten by another mod. What you do is go to the offending mod, double click it, go to the conflicts tab, then find the texture you don't want to use, right click and select hide. Done This way is safer (and faster), because you can always un-hide the files you hide. And it won't cause addition problems.

Sadly though your comment on Mod Organizer versus TES5Edit was/is an epiphany for me. A true I hate you/ love you right now moment. OMG! Uhhh....hide the file...uhhhh. I will have to adjust to this new concept, exercise the learning curve a bit but It doesn't sound like dark matter...Thanks yet again. You may have made my Christmas card list. I gotta absorb this slowly... Edit: Do you rum GenerateFNISforUsers after creating the bashed patch or before? GamerPoet's video on Wryebash mentioned running FNIS after the patch but I had been instructed to run it before by another modder previously. I would hope Michael knows but...(SIGH).

You might want to lay down with an ice pack on you head for a few hours to absorb the information about MO. Shocks like this are to be handle with extreme care I generally run FNIS before Wrye Bash. But I don't really remember why. In any case, I don't think it should matter, since WryeBash doesn't really do anything to anim files. It just bashes mods to get it's aggression out of it's system. Or it combines leveled lists to free up plugin space from your load order. One of those two options. Or maybe both?

V, still tweaking but I clearly am further along Than I had been before using STEP to step off from. Getting used to dealing with the file system inside M.O. is really awkward for me still. (WAH!) Looks great! And Bash is both plus. You can use the thing as a mod manager if you are so inclined. It and its crew, (Wryebash, LOOT and TES5Edit) are very powerful tools IMO. Awesome tools so a guy like me can actually mod a game without needing a PHD or a butt load of over productive gray matter (with a rescue from time to time...). Thank you.
ButchDiavolo Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 My pleasure I hope the modding keeps going well for you. MO has a steep learning curve, but it really is worth the trouble, IMHO.

MO has a steep learning curve, but it really is worth the trouble, IMHO. I must have broken archery with the changes I made in TES5Edit. I swear I never saw an entry that involved archery. I had uninstalled every mod I had added to STEP core and still no archery. Deleted everything, uninstalled Skyrim and I shall begin again with my new, borrowed approach. It will be great! Gets better every time. I shall return! I hope all is well at your house. Edit: I am killing myself! This is awful. I never deleted the mod organizer install with-in the Skyrim folder. Stupid me assumed it would go out with Skyrim. I did check the directory after I had steam delete local content, It was empty. After the "clean" install and installing a brand new Mod Organizer just downloaded all the mods were loaded, my log in was still there, nmm association already there, TES5Edited files all in place, Archery already pre broke...I almost cried. I may take up console gaming... NOT! Having a blast laughing at myself. Just a heads up.

I'm BAAAACK... Hey V! I Have rebuilt the whole bag of toys. I did STEP extended this time, downloaded and installed the whole list. I have downloaded and installed about 3/4th's of my "chosen additions" ( for immersion...yeah.). Archery works. Very pleased so far! Thanks!
ButchDiavolo Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Hey N. I hadn't seen your edit of the previous message. Ain't modding grand? LOL. Skyrim and MO install folders all over the place, so yes, just removing local content in Steam is just half the the job. Lots of things are also saved in C:\Users\[name]\AppData\Local as you probably found out by now. Anyway, I am glad you managed to get the archery working finally. Too bad you had to do the whole reinstall again to get it to work though. But hopefully now you will have a very sturdy install of Skyrim without too many problems. Just remember though: Skyrim was made by Sheogorath, so insanity is built in (aka weird things will happen)

netruss1964 Posted October 4, 2016 Author Posted October 4, 2016 Hey N. ... (aka weird things will happen) Hello Vachnic! Things are running sweet! I had some quirky issues with CTD's and Foot Ik crashes until I put Every body loves Dovakiin on "dialog" instead of "aura" and turned off dual sheath redux and wet and cold. Made a huge difference in fps and running scripts, huge! wet and cold really sand bagged my cpu heavily and loaded up my saves. Now though I have added Body types of Skyrim, Female Enemy Monster Aesthetics Leveled Encounters and it's companion mod F.E.M.A.L.E. companions. Now I am having issues with disappearing body textures. Follower skin turning female Draugr, grey face, black face, disappearing NPC's and occasionally my characters fingers (wearing nightingale gloves fingers show.) turn that glowing milky purple of missing or error in textures. Most of the texture issues happen to NPC's I change with Body Types. I am deciding a) if a bit of file hiding will work or, what I want to lose now. Other wise all systems are GO and archery is functioning fantastic! Just a heads up.
