raptor4d4 Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 Got myself a new gaming rig. Copied over everything for my Skyrim game, including my ENB. Sadly the ENB isn't working properly. On my old rig I took a lot of beautiful screenshots like these: Now I've got something like this. It is the Springtime ENB I've been using. Unless I can find a way to fix it, I'm going to have to use a different ENB. Found another one my the same author but it makes the nights impossibly dark. And I did try tweaking different settings but nothing I did changed how dark nights were. Anyone know of any good ENBs that look similar to my first batch of pics?

I have used http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/37978/? for most gameplay and messed around with http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/73661/? quite a bit. I think RealVision + CLimates of Tamriel will give you what you want and surpass it. Incidentally, would you mind postimg system specs, especially OS version ? I'm currently experiencing gamebreaking issues after the latest Windows 10 update, it just occurred to me that about half of them may have been caused by my ENB.

Just gave this a try. Nights are still too dark. Not that fond of the daytime lighting and coloring either. But thanks for the suggestion.
DurtyNelly Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 I use a version of Grim and Somber Jyggalag that Grim was kind enough to let me use, because my rig wasn't playing well with the normal preset for some reason. I've used all of his presets at one point or another and every time I decided to try something new end up going back. His presets might be too dark for your taste, but you can try them and see. They're all very beautiful.

They're all very beautiful. Some very nice looking screenshots but yeah, looks a little too dark and gritty for my tastes. I just really want an ENB that has a similar feel as the one I've been using for my comic series from Part 12 onward. That way I can finish my series without changing things too radically. I did find another ENB called Opethfeldt that appears similar to what I want, at least in the daytime. Nights and interiors are just way too dark though. Someone did turn me onto a mod called the Imaginator which lets you adjust coloring and brightness. Using this I was able to make nights appear similar to Springtime. Had to undo the settings when switching back to day because it made the daytime too bright. Still need to play around with it to find a indoor setting that I like. Don't relish the thought of having to mess with these settings every time the sun sets or I move indoors. But I really want to finish my comic. If no one can help me fix Springtime or find a good substitute for it with bright nights, I'll have not choice but to use Opethfeldt and Imaginator together.
raptor4d4 Posted August 15, 2016 Author Posted August 15, 2016 Here's a new question. When I hit Shift+PageDown it opens the ENB menu with all the settings that should allow me to tweak whatever settings I want. Researching the internet provided me with the settings I needed to tweak to improve the brightness indoors and at night. I even found this video. But when I adjust the same settings, NOTHING happens. No change to the lighting at all. Or at least none that I can notice. And I turned the settings up way higher than he did! I even tried clicking the "Save Configuration" and "Apply Changes" buttons at the top but still nothing. Why does this work for everyone but me?
yatol Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 because there's an option near the bloom one that make you load those settings from a file in enb folder those ones will only load if you don't a setting file for that weather, or area, or whatever it is

Gameplayer Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 I've been having a fit with ENB recently tried a lot of them but it seems like they are all the same way. Here's a shot of what my experience with ENB feels like, yup pure black at night. Torches, Nighteye, none of that even helps, and really I just feel foolish for even using an ENB at times. ENB's all seem to be too dark, Honestly my only real desire from ENB is the shadow correction off of characters, which are great I never liked how bad the shadows looked on characters bodies or the shadows they casted on the ground. I really like imaginators MCM color control menu. I do like a lot of other features of the ENB but whenever I get a Preset they all seem to fail hard at making sure that their preset is actually play worthy at all times. Could give two craps about immersion, I want to play at night with my night characters so their immersion doesn't line up with my immersion!
raptor4d4 Posted August 17, 2016 Author Posted August 17, 2016 Hello all. My ENB search continues and I'm trying right now the Rampage ENB. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/67483/? It's actually pretty goods. Nights and interiors are all very visible. Daytime actually gets a bit bright though. What settings should I tweak to bring down sunlight? Also, the mod author says there are several presets built in that you can switch at will. Go to the Posts tab on the mod page and there is a picture. In the corner of the picture is the menu that you are supposed to bring up in the ENB GUI that lets you swap between presets. But I can't get this menu to show up. I can bring up the GUI no problem but this small menu listing the presets is nowhere to be found. Anyone with Rampage ENB experience that can help me?

Gameplayer Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 I found that presets menu for Rampage. Now just need to tweak the daylight settings... WidowPuppy just suggested I use this today and its turning out to be a real nice ENB, I'm not using a Weather Mod or other lighting modification. The Evenings, Dungeons, and Interiors are all fairly easy to see in, which is a plus since I want to play night time characters rather than day dwellers like every ENB under the sun tries to enforce. NightEye actually means something as well its not just lip service it works like it should without blasting out the light gamma settings. FPS is a fair bit higher than what was suggested in the file description though I'm not sure if that means much due to how installations of mods can also have a hard impact on that. On the same setup however I found a lot of other ENB's to be FPS hog's while not really delivering a satisfying experience for night time play. AmbientLighting for night, day, and interior settings found in the Enviroment Tab do have an effect on how well lit the environment is, which when having tried to do this same adjustment on other ENB's I found didn't work at all. I also found that Vivid Weather was not satisfying due to the mod esp itself applying severe lighting changes and sound effects being quite loud on headset, it was exhausting in a word to use.

I'm liking this ENB too. And I adjust the daylight more to my liking. But I'm encountering a new problem. When I take screenshots, the ENB seems to "crash" right after I take it. The game itself runs fine. I just get some weird discoloration and everything grows dark. Check these screenshots to see what I mean. Working properly Not working properly When I'm outdoors, this effect only lasts for a few seconds before fixing itself. But indoors it is another story. Working properly Not working properly When facing a light source, everything becomes white and fuzzy like you see in this second picture. When facing away things become dark like before. But while it will normally fix itself while outdoors, indoors the problem persists after taking a screenshot. Anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it?
Gameplayer Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 I cant see your images, but you might want to attach a copy of your ENBlocal.ini and maybe even the SkyrimPrefs.ini so that we can take a look at it and get an idea if those are set up correctly.

I can see the pictures just fine so I really don't know what the issue is. But you can see the album they are part of below. Mixed in with a bunch of other sample pics I took. http://imgur.com/a/KLPfW Attached are my enblocal and skyrimprefs files. I would like to get F12 working again but in the meantime someone showed me an alternative. I can take pics with the ENB directly by pressing the "Insert" button. The pics end up in my Skyrim folder in BMT format but using GIMP I can convert them to PNG. enblocal.txt skyrimprefs.txt

Next, ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true (should not be true under certain circumstances such as using SKSE memory tweak, SSME, crash fixes mod, and/or Win10) if you have any of those you should set this false. DisableDriverMemoryManager=true, not sure what this does its false on mine no issues ReservedMemorySizeMB=512 this is really kinda high here, what its for is too reduce stuttering in the game, those little micro freezes. There are of course a lot of more meaningful ways to stop that like not using big textures or cutting out script intense mods or even cutting out a lot of little mods that make use of scripts. Should try to get this setting as close as possible to =64 and if that means taking out some mods I think its worth the tradeoff. AutodetectVideoMemorySize=true (bear in mind that if you don't set this don't expect to be able to just alt tab into a movie without issues in Skyrim) I think you don't have current series right now or you overwrote your ENBlocal with some ENB you downloaded. Your SkyrimPrefs checks out fine.

Of your recommendations it looks like there is only one I need to adjust, the first one since I use Windows 10. The ReservedMemorySizeMB I read 512 was a good "middle" number. I've already eliminated all the mods I can do without right now so I don't know if I should change that.
