Game Closes At Loading

So after getting a new monitor I have yet to be able to play Oblivion anymore. I find this strange and irritating as $%&@.

I have the settings on ultra (played fine before on my old monitor), resolution is at 1280x1024. I do have OBSE, but I play through Steam and never needed to launch through OBSE to play just needed it installed.

I recently found it a pain to play Oblivion after getting Windows 10 last year, especially since mod managers seem to have stability problems while installing mods that require them. I used MO for things that required it but manually installed the rest of the stuff.

That can't be your load order...........

 

Oblivion.esm MUST be at the very top or you will crash each and every time.  Run BOSS and then start a new game.

 

 

If that doesn't fix you up then:

Delete your oblivion.ini found in your my documents\oblivion folder.

Then run the game through steam and it should auto restore it.

You should be good to go then.

That's not your Load order !!!

Oblivion esm is the first Mod in a load order. And you can not load esp above esm !!

 

Have you changed graphic card settings ? ( not game settings) Then it could be that the game still try to use the old settings ( same problem if you have a new graphic card )

Delete your Oblivion ini (and maybe also the BlendSettings.ini ), both in your save folder. The game creates a new ini during next start.
