nehaberlan Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Hi, I created a book. I put it on a table in a cell. Now, I can read it, but the only option is "Steal". I want to "Take" it without stealing. Is there a setting and/or a script that I can prepare in the Creation Kit? Thank You in advance...
Guest Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Just remove the ownership of the Book. If there is no ownership then you can get it without stealing.
nehaberlan Posted August 10, 2016 Author Posted August 10, 2016 Just remove the ownership of the Book. If there is no ownership then you can get it without stealing. In The Book's Ownership tab, NPC selected: NONE Faction selected: NONE already... In the book Options, there is Teaches. Skill or spell. Can it cause any problem? I tried to select NONE for making a regular book, but CK didn't change it. I should make a mistake somewhere... The problem still continues.
srayesmanll Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Definitely not a CK specialist or anything, but could the book be inheriting ownership from the cell itself even though the book is set to no owner? Have you tried placing the book in an unowned cell (world space, owned home, etc)? Again, I'm not familiar at all with CK, just spit-balling an idea...
Guest Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Or, quick & dirty, set the ownership to the player.
Versh Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 The item in a cell generally takes the ownership by the cell... to make item "free to take" you have to set it owned by the PC or by an ally.
nehaberlan Posted August 10, 2016 Author Posted August 10, 2016 In Reference, there is also Spawn Container Tab. The Book is assigned to the cell where I created it in, and/or I put the book in. I didn't selected it by myself. There are assigning the book options to NONE or (any). I don't know what is "Spawn Container". Can it be used as an alternative instead of your suggestions? In my case, I would like to keep the book in the cell. So, "setting the ownership to player" seems more logical to me. I'll try that first. Thank you all...
nehaberlan Posted August 11, 2016 Author Posted August 11, 2016 I tried for trial and error the Spawn Container. When I tried to change it to NONE, then saved it, I noticed that CK didn't accept my assigning and replaced with the original cell's name. So, that option didn't work at all. I checked "Setting the Ownership to Player" in the game. It worked. I should give the credits for all of you each by selecting "Solved" in your replies. I don't know if it is possible multiple selection for solved click... Thanks again...
