Photonix Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 As the topic title mentions, I was wondering if it is possible to remove or hide somehow the default ears of your character. I've tried using racemenu to make them as small as possible and other small tweaks to no success! Reason being is that I'd like to use some mod like Cat / Wolf / Horns / w/e mod and it looks kinda silly having those plus the default ears, and unfortunately the hair style I really love doesn't cover both ears! So I am asking you fantastic people if you have any suggestions or ideas! Thanks for any help!
myuhinny Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 Many of the heads the ears are part of the head mesh so you would either have to find a head mesh that doesn't have any ears or you will need a 3d tool and remake a head mesh so that they don't have any ears. If the ears are not part of the head mesh you can use nifskope and load the head up into it and right click the ears and go to block - remove branch then save as to overwrite the nif. Make sure that only the ears highlight when you click them if the whole head highlights when you click the ears then you will not be able to do it that way. Also make sure after you delete the ears to check and make sure those ears are not covering up a hole if they are then you will not be able to do it as the head will have a hole in them in game. Also you should of posted this in the skyrim section and not the LL community general discussion are that has nothing to do with any of the games that already have their own sections.
Akzyra Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 Problem with removing the ears if they are part of the headmesh:All TRI files (contain the morphs) for the head are broken and need to be redone for the head without ears. Easy way: Create a new morph where the ears are put inside the head or something. May be quite hard to get the texture to look OK.

Thanks a lot for your feedback, and whoops you're right, I thought I was under the Skyrim section! Sorry! Could a mod please move this post to the correct section, sorry again for my posting mistake! Thank you!
Comrade Isbariya Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 Sadly, I had to discover that there wasn't an extra tab for ears anymore in CK, like it had been back in Oblivion, when I tried to change my darkelf's ears. They're part of the head, and I still wonder why Bethesda made it even harder to change some stuff. You could try using a hair that hides your ears, or make them as small as possible, but as mentioned above, it's quite hard to make it look 'natural'
