ButchDiavolo Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 Yikes! I see the image now. That doesn't look good. I have no idea what would cause that though? The only thing I can think off, is that somehow the language string files got corrupted. What you can try to do is, go into Steam, rightclick on the Skyrim icon/name in the left column, then select "Properties". In the screen you will get then, go to the "Local files" tab and there select "Check Game Cache Integrity" (or something similar). This will check the Skyrim install for missing or corrupted files and if need be will download the missing or correct files. Then check if the main quest area looks normal again. A free other tip: it is better to NOT install any mods until after you have made it to Riverwood. The start quest is extremely script heavy, so if you add mods to that, that need to install, it can cause CTDs or freezes.

The quest meni still showing gibberish for the main quests. so i again checked the integrity and this time it said 1 file failed to validate and will be reacquired. I press ok and then nothing happens, steam doesnt download the file.
ButchDiavolo Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 Then I am afraid I have no idea what could be causing it unfortunately. Perhaps it would be wisest to start a new thread for this particular problem, since it is no longer about FNIS. When you start a new thread you will attract more attention for this problem. And be sure to include the image you posted earlier in the post. Sorry that I can't offer any help with this one.

But no help. Anyway thanks for all the help from you and others, because of which i was able to make my skyrim playable without installing all the mods again. Thanks again.
