Zaselim Posted August 5, 2016 Author Posted August 5, 2016 just try this first of all move your files away from common/skyrim folder and then right click on game then delete local content. close steam copy paste your files again in common/skyrim folder and restart steam if game is greyed out in your library click on install then steam should begin checking existing game files. i think problem before was that steam was already downloading the files into different folder and was not checking actual game folder. do i also delete the files in downloading folder?
RUD3DUD3 Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 no just right click and delete the game from steam it should also delete files from that folder automatically.
Zaselim Posted August 5, 2016 Author Posted August 5, 2016 no just right click and delete the game from steam it should also delete files from that folder automatically. now the common folder has installscript.vdf file only, if asked do i overwrite it? also if some how the skyrim folder missing a file will the steam redownload it after checking the files?

I just did that with my game to check and everything went as it should and like i told. you are not doing it right.

ButchDiavolo Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 OK, a few important things about installing Skyrim and Steam: The reason for not having Steam (and therefore Skyrim) in c:\program files (x86) or any other folder called program files, has to do with the way Windows itself is set up. It has a feature called Windows User Account Control [uAC]. In layman terms, this means that UAC put special protection on all files placed in folders called "program files" or "program files (x86)". And this will cause problems when you start modding Skyrim. So as a rule of thumb: never install Steam (and therefore Skyrim) into those folders. To get everything working without too many problems, you best start over completely. Delete Steam and Skyrim. Then go to the Steam site and download the installer, or if you have the Steam installer saved on your pc, run it again to reinstall Steam. When asked where to install Steam, keep the path simple and short. For example use H:\Steam in your case. You can type this in and Steam will create the neccessary folders. Keep it short, because there are also limits in Windows to how long a pathname can be (256 characters if I remember correctly)! When you start adding MO and mods, the pathnames WILL get longer and can hit the 256 characters limit. So again, keep the path to Steam short. After you installed Steam (in H:\Steam), log into Steam itself and through Steam download and install Skyrim. When Skyrim is installed, do NOT copy the files elsewhere. Keep it as Steam installed it. The path to Skyrim should look like this: H:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim in your case Next start Skyrim once through Steam, so it will install the original ini-files. You will get the little screen saying Skyrim will detect your video settings. When that is done, click ok and exit the the game. So don't click "play"! Once that is done, your installation is not considered illegal by the mods and tools you will add later for modding. After you have done all this, you can install SKSE and ModOrganizer and start modding.

Zaselim Posted August 5, 2016 Author Posted August 5, 2016 Fnis is working I had to correct the path in MO, to the steamlibrary\steamapps\common\skyrim\ Now the game is lagging too much which it wasn't before.
ButchDiavolo Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 I am glad you got FNIS working at least As for the SKSE memory issues: you will have to reinstall SKSE and all the mods again, since it is now a whole new Skyrim install. The correct way to install SKSE in MO is this: (copied from the STEP guide) Download and install the latest archive: Place all *.exe and *.dll files into <skyrim>\ (not the data directory!). Should be three files (i.e., skse_1_9_32.dll, skse_loader.exe, and skse_steam_loader.dll). Install skse scripts into Mod Organizer. Click the Archive button. Browse to and select the downloaded skse archive. In the manual installation prompt, right-click data and select [set data directory]. It should say it Looks good, and not say No game data at top level. Click OK Create the SKSE ini file OR download and install it from here. Right-click the SKSE mod in Mod Organizer and select [Open in explorer]. Open the SKSE folder or create one if one does not exist. In the SKSE folder, create skse.ini and paste inside it the following: [General]ClearInvalidRegistrations=1[Display]iTintTextureResolution=2048[Memory]DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768ScrapHeapSizeMB=256

Before restart i was hearing some tick like sound from my system may be a HHD sound which means the HDD is dying but i just bought my system 2 weeks ago on friday 22, July. May be the HDD is faulty or may be the SDD because that is where my skyrim is. Is there any app to diagnose the HDDs/SSDs to see if they are ok or not? Also my first issue remains the same, In the quest window the main quests section has same unknown language hello everyone, My God i've been having issues one after another since i installed new skyrim. ButchDiavolo Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 Nope... sorry. Did you upload it first and then include it in the post?
Comrade Isbariya Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 I think the picture is on imgur. I can see it, you'll have to use a work around for chrome or Firefox in order to show pictures from imgur. Only people who did the same workaround can see them... ^^
Zaselim Posted August 5, 2016 Author Posted August 5, 2016 here i added the attachment Nope... sorry. Did you upload it first and then include it in the post? When i took the picture i was still setting up my skyrim, I am beginning at the game where dragon attacked and I ran with the guard and now in the place where I will get my first sword and armor set and the first mission to get to the riverwood. I installed few castle/house mods with the quest and and the language in these quests show fine (english) but only the main quest area is showing up like this.
