CTD after creating my character

Hi guys,

 

Reinstalled Skyrim and just started reinstalling some mods but very quickly I ran into a problem. Whenever I finish creating my character, Skyrim immediately CTDs. This started to happen right after I installed some NPC mods so I naturally removed them thinking that they were causing the issue but unfortunately I keep crashing. Any help would be appreciated.

Bijin Warmaidens.esp, Bijin NPCs.esp, Bijin Wives.esp, Serana.esp, Valerica.esp are disabled since I have the All in one Bijin mod and SOSRaceMenu.esp is disabled because I haven't installed SoS yet.

Is it any area you start or a certain area that crashes?

I used Alternate Start and Skyrim unbound and I crash right after I finish creating my character and giving them a name. I CTD when I get to the loading screen so I don't even know where I'm spawning.

I assume you've ran FNIS already, no? I'm honestly confused.

 

Edit: Have you tried uninstalling the High resolution texture packs? Its the only thing that I see that'd affect your world space which is causing the crash.

Are you using male or female character? Does it crash when using the opposite sex?

You have the Racemenu plugin for SoS; but you don't have SoS installed.  That will cause a CTD.

Ran FNIS again and uninstalled the Hi-Res texture packs but that didn't seem to work. I CTD when I create a male or female character. I'll keep trying to resolve the issue when I get a chance.

I disabled all of my mods and went through the normal skyrim intro. I was able to create my character and go through the beginning sequence of the game until I have to enter Helgen Keep which is where I CTD. Might just reinstall because I can't seem to find a solution.

Yup. Sounds like a bsa archive could be corrupted.

How do you corrupt a bsa file? And also disable the bijin warmaiden, wive, and npc esp because bijin aio esp is a merge of those three. But dont disable the folder for those

Don't ask me how, but it happens. I once had a bsa archive that was broken. replacing it from my backup folder solved the problem.

There are lots of reasons why a file can get corrupted. viruses, other forms of malware that thouched them, a failure on your hard disk drive, windows just bitching on you, etc etc...

save the Mod organizer or NMM and Verify Cache with in Steam. should  download fresh versions. no need for more.

Verified Cache but only downloaded one 1 file which was one of the ini files I think. Just reinstalled, added some mods and everything seems to be working. Thanks for all of the help everyone

Noticed that you were using Custom Races. Which means you need to have the same skeletons as the vanilla NPCs and Custom Races don't have XPMSE skeletons. 

 

Copy the XPMSE 3 skeletons (skeleton.nif, skeleton_female.nif) to the mesh directory of the race of your choice within Custom Races. Then run FNIS.

I always make sure custom races are using the correct skeleton. Thanks for the heads up though!
