johnnywatwat Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Like, really, it's cool and all you can drain people to death, and it's even cooler that you can see "amount drained" in MCM. But what if you could do something with that "amount drained" value? Some ideas I have: 1) Increased resistance to disease by a few percent. e.g., if you have 1000 points drained, resistance is increased 10%. Amount of points decreases every time a resistance check is made. 2) Spell perks depending on amount drained. e.g., Restoration costs 1% less to cast per 100 points drained, BUT Destruction costs 1% more per 100 points drained. Use of Destruction increases points, use of Restoration decreases points. 3) Speech check is 1% easier per 100 points drained. Every speech check reduces points. 4) An AOE destruction spell that does X damage, where X is the number of points drained. Use of this spell removes all the points, leaving you to start again. Does someone want to make this mod happen? I just find it sad that the points are there, not doing anything. If no one wants to do it themselves, I'm willing to. I just need someone to teach me how to do this.
LibertyPrime Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 PSQ already does everything that you mentioned. IMO it's a strictly better Deadly Drain from what I've seen.
evilelf Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Agreed...PSQ is your one stop shop for all your weaponized sex needs. Buffed magika, filling soul gems, heightened physical abilities, spells, flying, etc. etc. You can even earn perk points once your Succubus level is high enough.

I know DD is lacking a lot of RPG features that people would like to attach to it, earlier in it's development it was meant to include all that you mentioned pretty much but about half way in I decided to turn it in to a simpler effect mod with the back end to support modders (including me) to build extensions to it to include a variety of different cool things. That's why that value you see in the MCM is there. Essentially what that means is that DD is pretty much a sex effects mod, not an RPG mod like PSQ. Ofc im the author of DD so I'm biased but I would say the two above posters implying that PSQ is "better" in some way is a bit dumb since they don't really focus on the same things. I agree that PSQ is a great PRG and the beauty of it all is that you can run both PSQ and DD It also means that "drain" value can be fetched and set by other mods via mod events! So it's super easy to integrate with that value even without having DD as a dependency for you mod. I would love to implement all the stuff you mentioned in a separate RPG mod that uses DD but I cant find time between my day job and what little free time I have left. If anyone would be interested in further info about the mod events available you can message me or post in the DD support thread. Attached the document containing the information about the mod events available that you can hook up to for any mod you make. Docs_For_Modders_Events.7z

PSQ appears to be geared towards a female player character. I play a male heavy armor orc with unarmed build. Heya! Never thought the mod author himself would respond. I'll give extending Deadly Drain a shot when I have more time. I've never written a mod before, so this might be a good and simple way to get into creating mods myself instead of just consuming. Cheers.

I agree that PSQ is a great PRG and the beauty of it all is that you can run both PSQ and DD I didn't say PSQ was better...just that it did most of the things the OP was seeking...and other features. I've used DD in the past and think it's much lighter on the load order than PSQ...and a LOT simpler to get up and running. With that said, I'm not sure the personal attack was necessary.
Vivi Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 IMO it's a strictly better Deadly Drain from what I've seen. Agreed... Indeed you did not, the previous poster did, you just agreed XD Not sure I get the personal attack part tho, but I agree! It was unnecessary and Hoenheim is a jerk! See? That was a personal attack. He only said your comment was a "bit dumb". Not the same. He would never call somebody dumb, trust me, I know him
Vuulgar Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 DD with Hormones succubus curse is a great combo. I used those 2 with a dremora follower called Aren and Pet Collar to make a corruption playthrough that was very fun. The all powerful mage thought she was in control until it was too late....

Sometimes intent and clear meanings get lost in the written word. Especially since I was having an annoying night anyway finishing up an animation. I plan to take a look at the documents you posted, since I'd love to have the flexibility and simplicity of DD with only a couple of added options. Thanks for making the mod by the way.
jesternario Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 The only issue I have with Deadly Drain is that, while there is a "drain blood" option to it, it doesn't seem to do much, and it does not add to your satiation/advancement in better vampires. I tend to play a vampire character, and that would be a nice benny to have. Other than that nitpick, it's a nice mod.

orgs1n Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 I use both PSQ and DD. PSQ's scope is a lot larger, but some of its aspects are handled better by other, specialized mods. Soulgem Oven is better at the pregnancy part. Deadly Drain is better at the drain part. To me, the best things about DD are: - there's a simple hotkey to skip the occasional drain to death, which is very useful during intercourse with a trainer or a SexLab Solutions NPC; - the utterly cool fact that you can drain your unfortunate victims to dried out corpses! A great little mod at what it was designed to do!

Can you explain how this plays out? Does Pet Collar escalate? Pet Collar gives Aroused based attacks from your follower, Hormones has a Succubus curse option that activates and escalates with Dremora sex. I have since ran it again with Succubus race on Nexus and it worked pretty well. I could never get the drain to death to work after I had become a Succubus though. You can adjust Pet Collars trigger level as well as play with Aroused Redux settings to get the time frame you want.

Docs_For_Modders_Events.7z glad you wanted to keep ''deadly drain'' to just being a "deadly drain" and not deviously cursed loot. no offense to kimy of course, it's an awesome mod, i really liked cursed loot being ''cursed loot" until it started to expand into something else akin to sanguine's debauchery. mods using another "framework mod" really should be the way to go. i'd imagine it'll also be way easier for the modders to manage.

Jester said he/she was using Better Vampires, it's mentioned in the second line. I used to run DD myself along with Better Vampires and noticed the same thing as Jester; draining victims didn't progress vampirism, and it didn't satisfy thirst. I don't think DD was ever made to be compatible with that mod, which is kind of unfortunate. Unless I'm wrong, and the mod got an update in that area in the last year or two since I've used it.

I'm pretty sure they stopped working on BV.
