apparently bethesda did not think that anyone would ever rearrange the tables in greygarden.

 

brown: "i'd like to talk to you about unit 4479. he doesn't seem to be quite right."

Well they've been doing it for so many decades. That they developed some sort of mechanical muscle memory. So they just go the same spot. Probably without even realizing what they're doing. Kinda like breathing, you just do it.
