Hi

I believe I have found a incompatiblity with MHIYH 4.3g follower mod. This is no longer offically downloadable or supported by the author sLoPpYdOtBIGhOlE, so it might not be a big issue. However this has and still is a very popular mod and it might be worthwhile creating a work around for it.

  • Issue with MHIYH: Only a problem if you try to ride a horse/mount while the scanner is active. If you do, the mount becomes an uncontrollable flying horse.
  • No issue without MHIYH: Scent of Sex checks to prevent mounting if the actor horse is involved in a scene or excludes the horse from selection. You can safely ride the horse without any nasty side effects with the scanner active.

Please comment if you have views on this.

@edit This maybe a bigger problem. I've just tested out 'FollowerLivePackage' by oldc and I still get a flying horse, that can result in both actors dying from the fall.

I've just started to experiment with making the rules and  I think I'm getting the hang of it. But I'm wondering if the following is possible :

My Dragonborn enters Dragonsreach and Jarl Bulgruuf, and only him, propositions her for sex and will be satisfied for the rest of the day. Is this doable?

You could create a rule where the target actor was 'specific' and set to Jarl Balgruuf and the Dragonborn 'player' as source actor. Whether the Jarl or Dragonborn will be satified for the rest of the day, is uncertain ;) .

Startup Conditions:

  1. You could start the scene by setting a time filter, to ensure that there is only one encounter per day.
  2. Or perhaps start the scene only by request (i.e. Dragonborn asks Jarl Baalgruuf).

Hope this helps

Also, add a "timeout" to the rule to avoid it to run for about half a game day after it runs.

So it will run about once a day.

Ok, I've got the rule set up, but there's a problem:

In the Sexlab settings, I have Foreplay animations if it's consensual. It works fine when Sexlab is called by any other mod. The foreplay animations will be drawn from a certain set of animations defined in Sexlab.

However, whenever Sexlab is called by Scent of Sex, it will initiate foreplay when consensual, but the animations are not drawn from the defined list. Instead, it'll play some other animation that's not defined as foreplay. Am I doing something wrong? Or is it a known issue?

With SSX you have the full control of what animations should be played.

You have just to define them (by tags or specific animations)

I can control what animations are played when it's consensual and or when it's aggressive. But I didn't see a way to edit which animations to play when it's for foreplay.

Here's what I'd like it to happen:

When I reply "yes" to the NPC, a foreplay animation should start. My character should only be partially undressed as defined in my Sexlab foreplay settings. The animation played should be one that's defined in Sexlab, like Leito Kissing, or Arrok Foreplay. When the foreplay animation ends, my character should then be fully undressed, as specified in Sexlab, followed by the "actual" sex animation; in this case, a Throne animation.

What happened, though, was:

I replied "yes" to the NPC, I saw that my character was only partially undressed, as it should, since it was foreplay. But it played one of the specified Throne animations, not a foreplay animation. When the animation ended, my character then became fully undressed (as specified in my Sexlab settings) and another Throne animations was played.

So, is there a Foreplay settings in SSX that I missed?

No, there is no Foreplay option.

Hey CPU, continuing in this thread since it is no longer a rule Exchange issue... (from the rule Exchange thread)

You said it is supposed to be possible to set clothing triggers in the "wearables" section under target or source editing.

I dont seem to have it there tho... I have a list to pick items from my inventory. Under that there is an option "add to equip at start" and then there is "add to equip at end", then comes clear equip at start and clear equip at end and finally there is an option on stripping.

No choice for trigger settings...

How is it supposed to look ?

When I will be back home I will do a couple of screenshots.

How does this page look for the rest of you?

I'm using 1.3f.

On the "Participant Clothing" page:

I see the Heading "Edit the clothes to wear for target" , but under that heading is a blank space followed by the next heading "Equip at begin".

I assume there was supposed to be a clickable something in that blank space?

On the right-hand half of the page I have:

Pick a wearable

Add to equip at start

add to equip at end

clear start wearables

clear end wearables

stripmode

Hi CPU,

A request for Scent of Sex 1.4, please :) I believe I've found a solution for the flying horse issue with; ( Post - http://www.loverslab.com/topic/64169-scent-of-sex/?p=1717025 ). In 1.3g, you have put in many checks to test if the humanoid actors are mounted - 'isOnMount()' (player & npcs). However, there are no checks for the creature mounts, so it is possible for them to be included in a scene with a rider onboard. This I believe is causing the flying issue. If the mount has a rider, it should be excluded from potential scenes, until the rider dismounts. I'm sure you're aware of the function 'isBeingRidden()'. Using this appears to solve the flying issue with 1.3g, although 1.3g is quite buggy and creatures still behave unpredictably.

Seems like I rejoiced a bit too soon.

While under specific circumstances which I can't really reproduce rules get applied and animations start more often than not the mod just doesn't recognize actors even when they are standing directly in front of me. And independant of the scanning method I use for Scent of Sex.

I usually get some "bad rule because 6 - no sources" error.

for example for a scene that should be triggered when the generic male source actor has arousal >=50:

Doesn't seem to matter what I set as rule, it refuses to find any actors.

This was for generic male replaced by Stormcloak faction, didn't find any Stormcloaks in the middle of a Stormcloak camp.

I don't know what's wrong tbh. Maybe it's my setup but for me this is not really working so far. :(

What also doesn't work for me is the condition to see someone naked, meaning the one I can also use for one participient scenes. (see nudity?)
Bjorn Longsword just didn't see any nudity even though I stoof there before him completely naked and Scent of Sex MCM also confirmed that very fact.

And then I also wondered why the mod only finds 128 animations when I have over 400 installed. It's always just the same 128.

There are some problems in 1.3, they are probably fixed in V1.4

About the limit of anims, it is because MCM has a maximum of 128 lines visible.

I never paginated the result to show the anims split in multiple sub-pages (SexLab does it.)

1.3m ?

Wait, I have 1.3f installed.

Thx anyway, I'm still loving this mod (sort of a mod to create mods ingame, lol) and hope that soon it will work for me too.

Hi CPU,

Just an update on the flying/floating horse issue. It still happens even with the isbeingridden() checks in place. I've searched the net and it appears that this glitch has been around in skyrim since it's release and there doesn't seem to be any definitive way to fix it. Many people have simply stopped riding mounts, which is a shame. Some believe it to be a graphics card issue and the suggestion is to turn vsync on. Mine's on already :(

If anyone knows of a solution to this, please post it, thanks

@Edit: If anyone is interested, I am currently trying out a fix for this issue. I have a Nvidia GTX 650 Ti Boost graphics card and I normally optimise the settings for skyrim using GeForce Experience. However, it was suggested to use an open source card/game profiler - Nvidia Inspector by Orbmu2K. This will limit the fps of the card to 60fps, which is the normal skyrim limit. If the fps exceeds 60 this can cause the issue - check fps ingame by pressing [Alt] Numpad[ * ]. So far so good. I was also running in windowed mode for test purposes. This too may have contributed to this issue.

Although this issue is in no way caused by Scent of Sex, I still believe that including checks for ridden mounts is a good thing for game play in skyrim.

Having vertical sync set to 'on', 'adaptive' or 'adaptive / half' should limit the refresh rate - assuming your monitor is set to 60 Hz.

Thanks for the reply,

Yes, not sure and no. Like I said the vsync is on already and I assume the profiler I'm currently using has set it to adaptive rather than fast sync, to limit the frame rates to 60fps. I'm using a HDMI television as a monitor, so the refresh rate is 25Hz interlaced. Since using the profiler I haven't seen a repeat of the flying horse issue, so I'm hoping it's fixed.

...Missing option to start only if wearing something specific...

While developing V1.4, I found that the page to configure what the actors have to wear, is just NOT accessible.

So it is not possible to set this specific configuration.

If the rule has the setting done, it works. But the MCM does not show this information.

I will fix it for V1.4
