Game crashes after hovering ove an item in my inventory

As the title suggests, as soon as I hover over a certain weapon in my inventory the game crashes to desk top. Unfortunately I can't see what weapon this is before the game crashes, what I would like to know is how would I be able to find out which one it is since I can't scroll down to it without having the game crash?

It's probably due to a missing model.

 

Just highlight the top most weapon and drop it and then do the same again over and over till you notice it crashes. Or change the sorting of the menu by pressing X untill it shows up in view. At least I think it's X.

 

Or open the console, click your character and type inv then use PageUp and PageDown to scroll through the list.

Yeah, that's probably what it was.

 

I got lucky and was able to guess which one it was from the brief second or two I got to read the first part of the weapon's name. As far as I can guess, I must've uninstalled the mesh files (and probably the texture files as well) while trying to uninstall another mod that apparently shared the same file folders.. Oops

That's why I use a mod manager. NMM, Wrye Bash, Mod Organizer 2 take your pick.

Modified files can also cause it as well if something got messed up in the nif during the modifying and when you mouse over it the game will crash because it hits the screw up in the nif.  Redoing the nif always fixed it for me.
