myuhinny Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 I doubt I will be installing the new version anyway so no problem for me as I see no point in installing the remastered version.
srayesmanll Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Not sad news (although it is), just old news. There is nothing new in this vid that hasn't already been discussed here ad nauseam.
Arhon Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Kind of... already knew i just picked to wait it out and see what's going to happen. Â That said I will be checking out the Special edition once it comes out.
Kaz Aanh Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Ye lets light [*] together, Skyrim is ded and modding is deding. Â Most dedest ded of death. Â Also ded for console users because almost every mod uses skse and they can't use 3rd party .exe files so rip them too. Â Conclusion? Todd is jewing money from the Special Edition sales to make TES6 development even greater, and hire more than 10 VA's.
sidfu Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 eventualy most things will switch over to the remastered. it will take a while thou and alot of old but still popular mods someone will have too update them or remake. Â the expeerince they getting withe fallout 4 will help speed up the process of mods being converted but have to remember alot have left the modding scene so have to hope the remastered lures back some our people take over for them. Â i see remastered as more good than bad but imo they probaly should have did oblivion first then skyrim.
Guest Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Or just don't get remastered edition.. It's literally the same game but better graphics and engine, and it's $60. $60 for a reskin of a game that has already come out. Honestly I wish they did Oblivion instead, I would definitely buy that. Â

Vivi Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 I thought the sad news will be something like that SE will overwrite your existing Skyrim this wasn't such a bad news, at least for me. And as he said if you have a nicely modded Skyrim with an ENB you like then there isnt't much point messing with SE anyway. I am already seeing screenshots from some people whose Skyrim looks like it's from the future ^^
ratrace Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 The Fallout 4 engine is definitely much more stable than the Skyrim engine. Yes, both use the Creation Engine, but they finally ported it to 64 bit for FO4. IF the SKSE team will manage to release a 64 bit version of SKSE and the script code of mods using SKSE is updatable without having to go through a giant hassle, scripted mods will be possible on Skyrim Remastered. It all will just take some time. Â In the meantime we might want to have a look at this (for those who don't know yet): Â Â It's a total conversion (for free) of Skyrim, which means that they only use the games assets and engine, but it's a completely different game. Â English release in the end of july.
asdasd123123 Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 It'll probably take much longer then just a few months for SKSE to update due to the fact they'll have to decode the binaries once more and rewrite all their previous code. I'm also not exactly sure whether the developers are actively working on their script extenders anymore. It seems they've lost interest or are currently waiting until Fallout 4 stop updating.  I'm sure they'll also alter how the animations are binded as well, making sexlab and other animation mods obsolete. We still haven't figured out how to properly use paired animations and such ingame on Fallout 4, and the developer claiming to be making a tool seems to have abandoned ship.  I REALLY hope this new update at least contains the new features to Papyrus such as the dynamically allocated arrays and the structs. I don't know why Bethesda doesn't just use one of the feature packed scripting languages that are freely available instead of forcing developers to use their shit programming language, but whatever.  The good news is this new skyrim remaster really isn't needed in the PC community. Mods have taken this 32bit engine to it's full extent and will continue to do so until the next Elder Scrolls is released.Â
Guest Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 The 2016 edition is a lost cause, Bethesda made it specifically for console, None of us have much of a reason to care about it
Guest Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Can we close this thread? Â There are at least another five threads discussing the same stuff.
White Divinity Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 The only thing I was looking forward to was the 64bit engine.....but that doesn't mean anything if your skyrim setup is stable, you literally have everything that the new version will offer + a lot more.
Succuboi Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Its free if you own Skyrim and its DLC so no loss there, If you never had Skyrim I imagine it would be the "better" version if you just wanted to experience it.As long as it doesn't erase or replace the normal Skyrim in my library I couldn't care less, If mods work the same with it eventually then it can only be a positive thing once everything gets ironed out not to mention the obvious benefits of the improvements.
Guest endgameaddiction Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Enderal does look interesting. It's something else to look forward to instead of that Skyrim Remaster Rehash.
