Guest Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 i really want to buy Oblivion rightnow since its steamsales, i read the reviews on steam both positive and negative. The negatives said that its NOT compatible for windows 8. So would I a windows 8 user have problems with the Steam version? I read people recommend buying the physical because its stable and reliable
Arhon Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 I can run it on Windows 10 so i think you should be able to. Did you try to start up the Vanilla Oblivion(No mods just start it up from steam)? I do have both physical and steam version and the only difference there is, is that in the physical version you have to manually download the patches in order to patch it up. While in the steam version you dont need to download the patches manually since it will patch it all up.

gregathit Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 It runs fine on 8 and 8.1. Don't know who the hell said it doesn't, but they are flat out wrong. I've been running and modding oblivion on both 8 and then later 8.1 since they came out without any problems.

myuhinny Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Probably the same people that go your mod broken my shit without actually knowing what really broke their game they just went after the last mod they installed. Many times problems are caused by operator error but it's easier to blame someone else for their problems.
Dalkill Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Another one here reporting that Oblivion works both on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. Enjoy!
Vaelorian Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 it's easier to blame someone else for their problems. Not exclusive to mod users.
