FNIS won't recognize Sexlab Framework

Hi.

I'm trying to install the SexLab framework. I got it successfully installed by MO, but when I got to the part of the SexLab Framework page's install guide and I got to the part where you have to update FNIS, there should've been a line that basically read, "Reading SexLab" but there isn't one. (I've included an attatched pic of my FNIS screen for assistance).

Can anyone tell me what I might've done wrong and how I can fix it? I am really excited to start using SexLab and its associated mods but I'm not about to start it up without everything being in order.

It's installed in the wrong location.  Your mod manager should install it automatically in the correct locations, but it didn't.  Should be installed in the ../Skryim/tools folder, not the ../skyrim/FNIS/tools folder.  Check the instructions for installing using NMM (it appears in the screen shot you're using NMM) - there may be additional steps with the new NMM (I use Mod Organizer and you have to mark the proper 'data' folder when installing with MO since fore packages it with an extra folder layer).

I actually use MO, not NMM. Maybe that's why it installed to the wrong place? It took care of the installation location.

Add and run FNIS from inside MO.

I did that already. It's an executable, and I've been launching it both ways, standalone and through MO. No difference. I also always run FNIS as Administrator.

Why is sexlab framework unchecked? even if u did run fnis through MO, it wouldn't detect unchecked mods.

Fair point, but I ran it checked and unchecked with no change. I just did it again, checked after your post, still no change.

try installing Fnis via mod organiser and then run it again with the executable in the mod organizer ; 'mods' file, but also as the executalbe through mod organiser

Installing it via MO? I'm not sure what you mean. I already have it as an excecutable and I've been running it via MO. It SHOULD recognize what I've got in my load order.

the last thing i could suggest is re-downloading sexlab framwork and installing again with mod organiser, enabling it and run FNIS, if it still doesn't read sexlab, i think u might have to ask help from the mod author himself.

That might be it... It WAS a funky install. I tried to open the file through MO, that wouldn't work, then I just extracted it and found the file from MO. I think I'll delete it, then re-install it. Thanks.

if that was the solution, next time i suggest when u are downloading something, try not to spam a lot of other downloads at the same time, i found out the hard way and got like 5 files not downloaded properly, and had to redownload them

Nah, I just downloaded it once. But I downloaded it weird. Gonna try uninstalling and re-installing and if that fixes it I'll let you know.

UPDATE:

Nope, same thing. Uploading a photo of the new screen, basically same as the old one.

Nevermind. Issue fixed. A friend of mine that's better with this stuff than me Teamviewed and figured out the problem. Turns out I was literally launching FNIS from the wrong place, so it COULDN'T recognize ANYTHING I had installed.

Thanks so much for your help and ideas, though, people. I really appreciate it.

Where do you launch it from? I have done it from

Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users

and it STILL won't read SexLab

If you are using Mod Organizer then you must launch it using MO, otherwise it cannot see your mods.

If you are not using MO, then you probably didn't install Sexlab properly.

I read so many stuff i uninstalled and installed again but well....

Bad installation. Generator not run from <Skyrim_Data>\Tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users

i installed it trough Mod Organizer.

D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Mod Organizer\mods\Fores New Idles in Skyrim - FNIS

it installed it in the wrong place over and over again. even i did install it with the right "data" folder.

i seriously don't know after reading and reading what i should do...

Easy to follow guide is in spoiler

Screenshots for easy FNIS install using 6.3 XXL as an example:

This is what is shown when you tell MO to install FNIS:

inside the FNIS Behavior 6.3 XXL folder will be the Data folder, 2 text files, and an example script.

Right click the Data folder and select Set Data directory so that the window looks like this:

That will install FNIS to the proper file structure for Mod Organizer. You then have to start GenerateFNISforUsers.exe through mod organizer by setting it as an executable file First activate the mod, second navigate to the data pane on the right side. Third in the tools folder you will find GenerateFNIS_for_Users inside that folder right click GenerateFNISforUsers.exe (Highlighted in screenshot below) and select add as exectuable to have it in the mod organizer executables drop down list as mine shows.
